Description

Summary:
The Director for the center exercises supervision over the testing and retention center for graduate studies. They are responsible for supervising graduate assistants and consultants that support prepping students to pass professional exams and raising the first time test passing rate. They will also be responsible for hiring and supervising graduate dissertation coaches to support the PhD Program in Curriculum & Instruction and PhD in Social Work. This position is a part of the student Success initiative in the College of Education, Humanities and Behavioral Sciences (CEHBS).
Examples of Duties

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
As the chief administrative of the center, the Director is expected to:

• Provide professional, intellectual and administrative leadership to supervise and hire center personnel.
• Have an understanding of and be able to apply testing strategies for professional testing (Praxis 2, ASWB, EPPP, ABPP & NCE)
• Recruit, retain and manage dissertation coaches.
• Have experience with program assessment procedures to support Center evaluation and assessments.
• Demonstrate sound fiscal management practices to promote excellence in graduate testing and dissertation support.
• Encourage graduate students and retain them.
• Have experience with the dissertation process.
• Build partnerships with internal and external constituents to support graduate testing and degree completion.

Typical Qualifications

Minimum Position Requirements (including certifications, licenses, etc.):

• Must have a doctorate.
• At least five (5) years of service in higher education.
• Must have experience with dissertation supervision.
• Knowledge of testing strategies.
• Must be able to motivate and build confidence in students.

This position is Grant supported for 5 years with the possibility of renewal.
