TheDirector of Accountingwill participate in a wide variety of accounting functions to include general ledger, cost accounting, budget/forecasting, reporting/analysis, and Month End Close.

- The Director of Accounting responsibilities include preparing routine and ad hoc accounting reports, performing account reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, assisting with audit preparations, and performing other accounting duties as assigned.
- Requires a solid working knowledge of US GAAP and strong financial analysis skills.
- Requires strong Excel skills, be detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to work with little to no supervision and perform tight time constraints.
- Works with the Finance management team to prepare timely and accurate financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets and cash flow statements, for internal and external stakeholders.
- Coordinates accounting functions with team members and ensures sound accounting practices are followed.
- Assist in assessing internal controls, including risk assessments and reviews of risk areas.
- Works with the Operations team to provide monthly/quarterly/annual financial support to assist decision making.
- Analyze historical and current financial data to understand the company's financial status.
- Prepares financial analyses and reports as requested.
- Maintains and reconciles balance sheet and other general ledger accounts as requested.
- Reconciles Intercompany transactions on a monthly basis.
- Monitors CIP spending and maintains/reconciles Fixed Assets schedules.
- Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors to facilitate annual audits and tax filings (income, sales/use, reap property).
- Investigates and resolves audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance.
- Contributes to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures.
- Provide support for the management of the insurance program by partnering with insurance brokers on policy renewals and working with insurance auditors to minimize insurance premiums
- Travel expense audit and reporting
- Global VAT management (example; USA, Canada, Germany and UK)
- Business license management
- Manage calculation of customer rebates, buying group rebates, commission to sales agents and license agreement
- Performs other accounting duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
- 10+ years of accounting experience.
- Working knowledge of tax laws and GAAP.
- Strong financial analysis skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organizational and management skills.
- Highly Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel.
- Proficiency Sage Accounting Software a plus.
- Ability to work with little to no supervision.
