Saturn has an opportunity for a full time Information Services (IS) Business Analyst based in the Calgary, Alberta office. Reporting to the Manager, Information Services, the IS Business Analyst will perform comprehensive business and system analysis for Saturn's business units to ensure both business and technology needs are met.

Some specific duties, and responsibilities of the Business Analyst include, but are not limited to:
  • Develop a working understanding of the client departments business, its challenges, and priorities.
  • In conjunction with Infrastructure Services, provide support of the current suite of Saturn's systems.
  • Collaborate effectively, build relationships, and manage expectations with client groups and technology teams.
  • Review, design and document business processes and application workflows.
  • Elicit, analyze, define, and document functional requirements through interviews, information gathering sessions, business process modeling and workflow analysis.
  • Partner with technical and business stakeholders to create comprehensive solution requirements specification(s) and their appropriate solutions.
  • Conduct and facilitate key stakeholder meetings throughout the project lifecycle, planning and execution.
  • Manage internal and external project resources to ensure the quality of the work meets the expectations of the client group(s), as well as existing process frameworks and constraints.
  • Coordinate and manage data input standards required to ensure data integrity.
  • Support Implementation of new Processes/Applications/Systems/Workflows.
  • Application support, that includes validating, testing, comparing reports and testing interface data being sent to between multiple systems for integrity and validity within some of our Enterprise applications such as Qbyte FM/Metrix, Optix, CS Land, OpenInvoice, and Quorum Execute.

Candidates for this position will possess the following qualifications and competencies:
  • Post-secondary degree in Commerce, Information Management, Computer Science, or other related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years' experience working as a BA, applying structured business analysis principles, practices, and methodologies.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to clearly communicate thoughts on complex issues and establish effective working relationships with business, vendors, and other technical and third-party experts.
  • Good working knowledge of upstream oil and gas concepts
  • Experience managing projects and a high degree of familiarity with common project management concepts.
  • Experience in planning, designing, and executing integration and user acceptance tests.
  • Experience with data analysis and data conversion.
  • Capacity to meet tight deadlines, set priorities and organize workload.
  • Familiarity with PMP, PROSCI, ITIL tools and practices, Python, SSRS, Visual Basic and SQL are considered an asset.
