For over 40 years, BAE Systems has served as the trusted agent to provide Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) of Navy, Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD), & foreign Military Sales (FMS) Weapon and Combat System Development. Our program is seeking a leader to manage and direct a team of engineering Baseline Coordinators (BLCs) for the USN & BMD portfolios. In this role the successful candidate will take a leadership position in overseeing and managing technical project(s) and individuals who serve as a liaison between program leadership, our government customers, and our technical subtask divisions. This position will be responsible for project execution plans and identify technical and business resources needed, review status of projects and budgets, manage schedules and status reports. The successful candidate will also assess issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives while providing technical and analytical guidance to the team. The successful candidate will also assess issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives while providing technical and analytical guidance to the team. Other responsibilities include for the individual and those apart of the USN & BMD teams:
- Demonstrate excellent technical proficiency and expertise, both in knowledge and skills, for the assigned project or baseline
- Develop a professional and cooperative relationship with government project lead and Subtask leaders
- Coordinate all SE, T&E, Cyber, and ILS efforts directed by the AEGIS TECHREP Project Lead
- Work with the developer engineers to review design plans and engineering processes, and recommend changes to satisfy the program objectives and AEGIS TECHREP Project Lead
- Provide monthly executive summary's and report any changes to the baseline schedules, (Build plan, MPP, I&T and meetings and record in POA&M)
- Assess ongoing baseline efforts and compile weekly SITREPs and monthly reports in a timely fashion
- Conduct monthly team meetings to assess ongoing product line efforts are on time and customer requirements are being fulfilled
- Assist in all Technical Data Package (TDP) reviews and submit comments on defects
- Provide status to other team members when appropriate
- Assist A-SPEC Engineer in closing out A-spec issues relating to your baseline/project
- Assist in closing any comments for all projects where applicable and concurrence is given by originator
- Coordinate through Subtask Leads the review of:
- Element Final Specifications for comment incorporation and make recommendations for acceptance.
- SCRIBE and ETR documentation
- Technical and Releasability Documents
- Test Procedures
- All TRAIN Action Items comments are sent to the applicable party for adjudication
- Coordinate comment consolidation/adjudication meetings with all parties as required for Milestone TDP
- Submit ATR Weekly Report inputs
- Coordinate, plan and support all meeting requirements (VTC, Teams, CVTC, etc.)
- Supporting the BAE Senior Leadership Team to develop project plans, develop, schedule, and deliver demonstrations, and preparing strategic roadmaps
Required Skills and Education
- Military Veteran
- Minimum 15 years' experience with DoD/DoN programs with a strong focus on Navy/AEGIS programs
- Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) in a related engineering field, or a minimum of 5 years of experience of in-depth specialized knowledge in the related field such as computer programming or equivalent experience
- Proven people skills with the ability to nurture and mentor junior managers and team members
- Ability to support a culture of diversity and inclusion
- A desire to help others learn and grow within the organization
- Proven customer service skills
- Proven problem-solving and communication skills
- Security Clearance Requirement: Must have a secret level DoD security clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, etc.)
- Experience with development and maintenance of computer programs
- Understanding of the Systems Engineering Development Lifecycle
