Location: Mogadishu, Somalia
Duration: 6 Months

We are seeking an experienced Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Manager for a 6-month assignment in Mogadishu, Somalia. The successful candidate will manage and administer the company's HSE programs, policies, and processes, ensuring compliance and promoting a culture of safety across the project's work sites.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and manage the company's HSE programs within the assigned Area of Responsibility (AOR) in Mogadishu, Somalia.
  • Supervise and mentor assigned HSE personnel, ensuring the proper implementation of safety policies and standards.
  • Audit HSE programs and conduct site inspections to evaluate program effectiveness and compliance with safety protocols.
  • Investigate incidents, including those with potential for litigation, and develop actionable recommendations to prevent recurrence.
  • Collaborate with management to ensure safety standards are maintained without compromising productivity, ensuring the safety of employees, sub-contractors, and client personnel.
  • Create and implement project-specific HSE programs to address gaps and ensure adherence to applicable regulatory standards.
  • Maintain communication with client representatives, corporate HSE teams, and regulatory agencies to ensure alignment on safety protocols.
  • Support the workers' compensation process and provide regulatory oversight for all HSE-related matters.
  • Develop and deliver HSE training and awareness programs to enhance safety compliance among personnel.
  • Ensure that all required records, reports, and documentation are maintained to meet corporate and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 7-10 years of related HSE management experience, including regulatory compliance and incident investigation.
  • US Passport/US National requirement.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills with experience managing HSE programs in international environments.
