Salary range: $90,000 - $105,000 Annually

Position Rationale and Goal:

Provide direction and supervision of the Information Technology department at Stratford Hall in order to facilitate academic and administrative uses of information technologies.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Technology, or post-secondary equivalent technical education
  • Minimum 4 years' experience in Systems Administration, IT Management or equivalent
  • Relevant industry certifications
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Strong client services skills
  • Working knowledge of various educational, financial, and administrative systems
  • Experience administering Microsoft Office 365, cloud storage, and Google Workspace technologies
  • Experience with cloud management of infrastructure and software services
  • Experience overseeing IT technicians as they support everyday users
  • Experience with business continuity & disaster recovery solutions
  • Experience in networking including switches, access points, VPNs, VLANs and security
  • Ability to operate effectively in a team environment with both technical and non-technical team members
  • Ability to work at times with minimal supervision
  • Effective people and time management skills and ability to set priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor under stress
  • Knowledge of cross-platform environments, including macOS, Windows, iOS, and ChromeOS


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage IT staff by overseeing, recruiting, training, and evaluating employees
  • Support faculty and staff users in their day-to-day work, providing solutions and process improvements
  • Provide information and training to staff to support their understanding and uses of school technologies, including emerging technologies
  • Safeguard and manage inventory control for all school IT assets
  • Prepare annual capital and operational budget proposals to support effective learning and school management; manage IT expenses within approved budgets
  • Supervise the installation and maintenance of computer systems, patches and upgrades as well as system back-up and recovery, troubleshooting, resolving system hardware and networking issues, debugging and supporting multiple infrastructure platforms
  • Plan and oversee network and communications security storage, installation, configuration, maintenance of servers, infrastructure and application service management and technical assessments of enterprise technology
  • Provide audiovisual support for school events as requested
  • Manage major IT projects and upgrades as required
  • Oversee third-party software applications and organize the provision and management of user accounts on those systems
  • Ensure that users have access to a clear IT help desk ticketing system and a well-organized user documentation
  • Monitor end user satisfaction and adjust department practices as needed
  • Assess school technology needs and collaborate with the Director of Finance and Operations to plan IT maintenance and upgrade projects
  • Perform other duties needed to continuously improve IT systems or as assigned
