POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director of Health Information Systems (EMR) is responsible for leading the strategic planning, implementation, and ongoing management of the organization's health information systems, including EMR (Epic/Nextgen) platforms. This leadership role ensures that the organization's EMR systems are aligned with regulatory requirements, enhance clinical efficiency, and support patient care delivery. The Director will collaborate with clinical, IT, and operational leadership to continuously improve and innovate health information systems.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Education/Experience:
1. High school diploma or equivalent education required
2. Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, Information Technology, or a related field preferred
3. A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in health information management or health IT required
4. A minimum of three (3) years in a leadership role required
5. In-depth knowledge of EMR systems, healthcare IT standards, and regulations (e.g., HIPAA, HITECH) required
6. NextGen certification required
7. EPIC certification required (if not had a time of hire will be required within 12 months after migration is complete)
8. A valid Driver's License and daily access to an automobile required
