Salary Range: $73,055 - $94,368

This role is part of a highly supported team building on a strong programmatic structure for all classrooms with opportunities to individualize and innovate. The Physical Therapist will provide direct and consultative service to students, coordinating with the related services team to ensure continuity of services across settings/situations with generalization of functional skills being a primary focus. The Physical Therapist will support the special educator and team of BHPs by providing didactic and in vivo training individualized to each student. This role offers opportunity for leadership and collaboration across disciplines in order to best support students.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES. Other duties may be assigned.
COURSE OF YEAR & SCHEDULE:
This is a full time role working a program-specific calendar aligned to Lewiston Public School's academic year with 6 weeks of full time summer services as well as additional summer professional learning days.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversight of MaineCare billing. Supervises students during therapy sessions. Other district-wide duties as assigned.

- Serves as a resource to staff in the development of a balanced program for motor and functional skill improvement.
- Assists and guides staff in observing, describing, and referring suspected and identified motor skill deficits/impairments.
- Completes thorough assessment to diagnose, identify present level of performance and/or monitor progress of motor and functional skills.
- Assists in proper referrals of individuals to agencies and specialists in the community including ordering specialized equipment.
- Attends and reports out at IEP meetings, establishing and maintaining appropriate records of service and progress on goals.
- Provides appropriate individualized programs of therapy to meet students' unique needs and support skill acquisition according to existing skill deficits.
- Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team to implement therapy across settings by suggestions for the student's daily activities.
- Provides information, support, and counseling to parents and families when appropriate.
