The Distribution Manager is responsible for the overall supervision of the material handing activities, inventory management, and distribution for all materials and products to and from our facility. This position is responsible to communicate and support corporate policies, objectives and goals, and facilitate the continual improvement of the department processes and systems.
Essential Functions
- Assigns personnel to Picking functions.
- Creates and monitors work schedules for Material Handlers, Lead, and Supervisor.
- Performs disciplinary counselling.
- Ensures product picked and staged on delivery trucks are accurate and accounted for and completed before leaving for the day.
- Ensures product picked and staged for in house transfer trucks are accurate and accounted for and completed before leaving for the day.
- Ensures product picked for UPS, Fed Ex shipments are accurate and accounted for and completed before leaving for the day.
- Ensures product from delivery trucks for non-deliveries, exchanges or pickups are accurate and accounted for.
- Ensures returned product from delivery and transfer trucks are inspected, cleaned, sanitized, and dispositioned timely and correctly.
- Confirms timecard hours for Material Handlers, Lead, and Supervisor on 2nd shift.
- Reviews attendance and lunch penalty occurenees each pay period and address and provide communication and/or disciplinary actions with staff.
- Creates and performs counseling's and performance reviews with Material Handlers, Lead, and Supervisor on 2nd shift.
- Communicates meetings or special events with the Material Handlers, Lead, and Supervisor on 2nd shift.
- Ensures that Material Handlers, Lead, and Supervisor on 2nd shift is performing tasks efficiently and within company procedures.
- Trains staff to work safely and efficiently.
- Trains staff to empower them to perform tasks so the team can function successfully.
- Initiate and complete investigations for Injury/Near Miss and Accident reports.
- Manage Material Handlers, Lead, and Supervisor on 2nd shift to ensure all company policies and procedures are adhered to.
- Ensure inspection of product and repair furniture are complete and in saleable condition.
- Coordinate, assist stores, and assist customers both internal and external with issues on products.
- Create efficiencies in DC by analyzing, planning, creating, and monitoring of policies and procedures.
- Ensure Staff are meeting PPH for picking, inspect, and put away functions and hold staff accountable for PPH productivity or lack of.
- Promote a team work environment by helping other departments when possible.
- Promote company values and ensure that staff are working in accordance with said company values.
- Will fill in for other DC Management staff when necessary and monitor functions of DC staff.
- Will check in vendor, delivery and SNS transfer trucks.
- Process FED EX shipments
- Interview and hire new staff when needed.
- Complete training with new staff.
- Test and certify staff to driver forklifts..
- Perform inspections of equipment.
- Will ensure building is secure before leaving for the night.
- Ensures project, tickets, and TO-DO items are completed on time.
- Ensures DC reports and required checklists are completed on time and accurately.
- Research inventory discrepancies.
- Responsible for the preparation of various reports must be skilled with Microsoft office.
- Ensure product, equipment, and furniture and fixtures are repaired timely and correctly.
- Training staff including Supervisors and leads to be promotable.
- Move materials to and from loading and return docks, delivery trucks, storage areas, and inspect areas to racks and other areas of the DC.
- Ensure he/she and the staff managed receive product correctly into company inventory via scanner.
- Ensure he/she and the staff managed put away product timely, accurately via scanner.
- Ensure he/she and the staff managed receive product from delivery and transfer trucks and attach labels and paperwork to product, change warehouse data in warehouse management system and in Dispatch Track.
- Ensure he/she and the staff managed inspects product, cleans and sanitizes and enter in ipad document data and ensure in saleable condition.
- I Ensure he/she and the staff managed inspect product and decompress/repair/touchup to ensure in saleable condition.
- Perform and report cycle counts.
- Comply with all warehouse safety rules and guidelines.
- Operate trucks, forklifts, and other PIV equipment to move freight.
- Ensure he/she and the staff managed complete a PIV inspection checklist daily.
- Ensure all product that information is uploaded to Basecamp for all product that cannot be located also known as NIL.
- Ensure that any PIV equipment or vehicles that are inspected and in need of repair are properly locked and tagged out and issue communicated to DC management so repairs can be scheduled.
- Responsible for ensuring all areas of the Distribution Center are clean and organized and product is safely and securely stored.
- Dispose of obsolete or damaged product in proper disposal dumpsters/trash cans.
- Pick and stage product for shipments for customers, delivery teams, and internal and external guests.
- Ensure Pictures and related information for any Damaged or RTV product are added to Basecamp before being put away.
- Process orders for LTL and parcel shipments.
- Will be required to work days or night and weekends and holidays and must be flexible in hours. Some starting times may be required that are different from normal 2nd shift starting times.
- Responsible for entering staff production and create reports/graphs and to hold them accountable for production.
- Responsible for the preparation of various reports must be skilled with Microsoft office.
- Review DC procedures for DC and devise, implement, and monitor to make DC more safety and efficient.
- Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the company's discretion.

Work Environment
- Typical office environment with standard equipment and tasks.
- Position requires work at a computer/video display terminal and desk for extensive periods of time.
- Must Be Willing to Work Overtime, Holidays and Rotating Shifts.
Physical Demands
- The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is required for this position this position.
- Requires regular twisting/turning/squatting/bending/reaching/lifting and prolonged periods at a stationary/mobile work station.
- Ability to maneuver packages of any weight above 200 pounds with appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person.

Required Education and Experience
- College degree, or 3-5 years supervisory, or management experience in a warehouse environment.
- Effective in leading teams with exceptional organizational, prioritization, and communication skills.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (EXCEL, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Outlook)
- Ability to perform multiple tasks concurrently in a high volume fast paced environment.
- Proven proficiency in WMS (Warehouse Management System), Bar Coding and scanning technologies.
- Experience with Radio frequency and automatic identification uses in material handling.
- Must be self-motivated and team oriented with the ability to motivate a workforce towards common objectives.
- Most possess excellent customer service skills.
- Analytical think, think out of the box and analyze situations and create solutions to them.
- Bilingual Spanish is a plus but not required.
- Forklift trained a plus but not required.
