Job Description

The BAE Systems site in Louisville, Kentucky is seeking a Quality Manager III. In this role you will manage the Quality team by assigning work, setting priorities and work schedules, evaluating employee performance, providing feedback, and supporting career development. As the Quality Manager, you'll promote cross-functional collaboration, develop and grow customer relationships, support the proposal process, and serve as a trusted business partner. You'll apply quality-related data and concepts to drive continuous improvement, present recommendations to management and customers, and influence decision making and process execution.

Note: Could require travel of up to 10% necessary to effectively fulfill the role.

Required Skills and Education

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree in STEM related studies with twelve years related experience, or the overall equivalent experience &/or education in Quality Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering / Weld;
  • Experience in Manufacturing and/or Assembly, specifically, Weld;
  • Proven leadership and people manager experience;
  • Strong knowledge of quality management principles, APQP methodologies, and process controls;
  • Proficient in structured problem-solving techniques and root cause analysis;
  • Strong background in lean manufacturing principles and process improvement methodologies;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration and effective stakeholder management;
  • Able to work effectively within a cross-functional team;
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite) and industry-related software;
  • Excellent data analyzing and review skills to identify trends for process improvement;
  • Proven ability to lead and facilitate lean initiatives and continuous improvement projects;
  • Training, coaching, mentoring skills to develop and enhance the capabilities of the operational teams;
  • Experienced in delivering training and motivating employees to ensure quality standards are met;
  • Able to achieve quality assurance operational objectives by contributing to information analysis;
  • Has an understanding of financial fundamentals and the ability to deliver on financial objectives by estimating requirements, preparing annual budgets, and scheduling expenditures;
  • Able to develop quality assurance plans by conducting Gap analyses and monitoring procedures;
  • Experience validating quality processes by establishing product specifications and quality attributes;
  • Able to support travel of up to 10% for off-site collaboration.

Preferred Skills and Education

  • Certification in a relevant quality management system (e.g., ISO 9001) is preferred;
  • Up-to-date knowledge of industry and government quality standards, regulations, and best practices;
  • CWI and/or NDT background;
  • Bids and Proposal process;
  • Project and/or Program Management certification;
  • Earned Value knowledge.
