Description

SAIC is seeking a Launch System Integrator to provide Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) support the NRO Electro-Optical System Program Office (ESPO). Qualified candidates should possess demonstrated ability and experience in space/launch operations.

Key duties/responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Assist in developing Launch Vehicle LV interface requirements and define acceptable evidence and associated verification plans
  • Assist in developing launch base facility, transportation, safety, and communications requirements and associated verification plans
  • Evaluate Launch related CDRLs and prepare feedback for Gov't customer review
  • Participate in technical meetings and working groups with the satellite developer, launch provider, and launch base representing SPO equities
  • Represent Gov't customer for all launch-related issues
  • Participate in launch rehearsals
  • Provide on-site launch base support once SV arrives, serve as payload processing facility interface to the SPO
  • Support the Flight Director during Launch & Initialization (L&I) activities
  • Evaluate all new entrant LVs for applicability to the SPO mission
  • Travel, as required, to prime contractor location, launch base, and launch provider facilities
  • TS/SCI w/ CI Poly required
Qualifications
  • BS in Engineering, Physics, or similar technical discipline
  • 9 years' experience in space related systems to include operations, acquisition, program management, integration, test, and evaluation
  • Familiarity with new entrant Launch Vehicles from ULA, SpaceX, Blue Origin, and others
  • Understanding of launch vehicle performance to varied orbits and ability to provide rapid response to leadership
  • Familiarity with capabilities and limitations of launch facilities on both coasts
  • Familiarity with payload fairing environments such as humidity, pressure, temperature, flow rates, and payload contamination issues
  • Understanding of the payload processing facility capabilities and specific program needs related to launch base processing
  • Understanding of payload transportation requirements and current USG capabilities
  • Understanding of launch environments to include coupled loads analysis, inertial and quasi-static loads, shock, and vibration
  • Ability to work autonomously with little oversight
  • Ability to travel approximately 25% during year of launch
