Job Description
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The NYC H+H METROPOLITAN hospital lab is recruiting for a full-time, permanent Clinical Laboratory Quality Officer with dual reporting to the hospital Laboratory Director and to the office of the System Laboratory Chief Quality Officer. In collaboration with the clinical laboratory leaders, operational and technical leaders, the Clinical Laboratory Quality Officer will support changes by inspiring managers, building up teams and leading process improvement activities within and outside of the laboratory with local and enterprise-wide initiatives.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Clinical Laboratory Quality Officer is tasked with defining and promoting a quality mindset across the entire lab and for complying with METRO POLIT AN hospital mission statement. The incumbent will be driving process improvement activities collaborating with hospital and various laboratory departments. The Clinical Laboratory Quality Officer is responsible for developing and maintaining Quality Management System (QMS) based quality program adhering to all the internal and external regulatory and accreditation guidelines and requirements.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Minimum Qualifications
# Qualification for Health Care Facility.
1. a. A Baccalaureate Degree in Public Administration, Public Health or Health Care Specialization; and,
b. Five* years or four# years of increasingly responsible experience in hospital administration, with particular emphasis on development and evaluation of health care delivery services; or,
2. a. A Master's Degree in Public Administration, Public Health or Health Care Specialization; and,
b. Four* years or three# years of increasingly responsible experience in hospital administration, with particular emphasis on development and evaluation of health care delivery services.

- Lead laboratory quality and process improvement efforts involving various laboratory departments
- Drive laboratory-initiated process improvement projects for the hospital by partnering up with hospital quality and safety leadership teams
- Serve as a resource for the laboratory for document review and compliance assessment
- Implement and maintain an effective quality management system using integrated systematic approach to quality throughout the entire laboratory
- Establish departmental quality improvement monitors based on regulatory requirements, on-going laboratory data analysis, and customer feedback
- Monitor, investigate and ensure proper follow up to laboratory related complaints and non-conformances
- Participate in hospital patient safety committees and related activities
- Performs scheduled and non-scheduled internal audits of entire department including corrective action for all deficiencies identified
- Interact with all stakeholders as part of ongoing compliance monitoring with all requirements of the laboratory's Quality Management System
- Complaints/grievance (Internal and External) will all be directed to Clinical Laboratory Quality Officer for documentation, evaluation, review, and presentation to appropriate hospital committee
- Perform root cause analyses, implement corrective and preventive action plans as needed and monitor sustained compliance to the changes implemented
- All other duties as requested.
