SUMMARY:

Since our first flight between Boston and Provincetown in 1989, Cape Air has expanded throughout New England, Montana, and the Caribbean. Today we serve over 30 destinations and have nearly 100 aircraft comprised of Cessna 402's, Tecnam Traveller, and Britten-Norman Islanders. We're looking for a dedicated and passionate individual to lead our close-in Scheduling efforts. This highly visible management position is responsible for the post-production optimization of the flight schedule for all Cape Air regions after the final base schedule is loaded for each season. This position will focus on maximizing revenue opportunities within the schedule and therefore requires working closely across multiple teams including Future Schedules, Revenue Management, Crew Scheduling, and Distribution. The timeframe in which the candidate will optimize can be as close-in as two days prior to schedule operation.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Identify new revenue opportunities within the schedule based on market demand and crew/aircraft availability
  • Build each day's custom aircraft routing ("flows") based on a day-of-week template to add and subtract the number of airline flights or seats on each route
  • Adjust the available capacity in the airline reservation system, AMADEUS, through Oasis SSIM Post Processor, a Cape Air proprietary processing tool, with changes in the flows.
  • Balance numerous operational constraints, contractual, regulatory requirements and business rules
  • Deliver finished aircraft flow sheets to the internal customers
  • Critique and hone the aircraft scheduling process and tools
  • Adjust flight capacity to match expected crew allocation and aircraft type
  • Report on capacity levels to senior management
  • Analyze the best utilization of aircraft and crew resources via shared resources
  • Work occasional non-standard hours as needed
  • Ability to receive, understand, analyze and implement feedback from multiple company sources
  • Ensure Amadeus and Oasis flight and capacity levels remain in sync
  • Work collaboratively with multiple teams to ensure schedule success

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Keen attention to detail
  • Previous experience with the following preferred but not required:
    • Airline schedule development or network planning
    • Software experience:
      • Oasis Flight Scheduling System (or similar system such as Sabre Schedule Manager, Zulu, Amadeus Skymax, etc.)
      • Amadeus, AirRM, Oasis SSIM Post Processor
      • Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
    • Familiarity with airline operations and constraints (crew, aircraft maintenance, airports)
    • Understanding of SSIM (Standard Schedules Information Message) files preferred, not required
    • Strong computer aptitude and the ability to learn-and then master-the Oasis Flight Scheduling System
