Accountable for the management and performance of the Brown Root's HSE Department throughout assigned project portfolio. Provides overall leadership and support of offices and field projects, within assigned portfolio. Support Brown Root's effort to ensure a safe, healthy, and environmentally friendly workplace for our employees, our clients, subcontractors, and the public. Support of corporate HSE initiatives driving our ZERO Harm 24/7 culture. A ZERO Harm culture is one in which all incidents are intolerable and there is a desire and commitment to make sure we do everything in our power to avoid any situation that put our employees, subcontractors or clients at risk. Works directly with project and Business Line leadership. Interacts with client representatives. Must be a positive influence within the organization. Knowledgeable of HSE systems process, applicable HSE regulations, computer based HSE programs, trending applications, etc. Has an understanding field work activity, processes, and practices related to maintenance, turnarounds, and construction.

Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:
- Responsible for driving continuous improvements.
- Monitor and evaluate existing health, safety and worker's compensation performance.
- Provide guidance and support the operations regarding the return-to-work process for injured Employees.
- Support the education and training of project management and staff in the areas of health, safety, and worker's compensation best practices.
- Responsible to support E-Compliance management within assigned Business Line(s) as applicable.
- Support Business Development as needed.
- Interface with site client representatives.
- Ensure Incident Investigations are conducted and entered as required.
- Interface with governmental officials as required, i.e. OSHA, DEQ, etc.
- Work with project management to ensure company processes and procedures are being followed at all work locations.
- Work closely with HR to ensure processes, such as annual medical requirements and D A testing are being appropriately conducted.
- Support our Safety Energy process, ensure compliance, and track, Work with project leadership to trend results and develop implement project specific improvement strategies.
- Ensure Structured Safety Evaluations are scheduled, conducted, and corrective actions issued in completed.
- Coach and mentor project management, supervision and craft as required.
- Ensure project specific Safety Plans are developed, reviewed and updated as required.
- Support efforts to ensure Sub-contractors are properly evaluated and managed.
- Provides HSE information and guidance to appropriate operations management.
- Support company and project specific Recognition Programs.
- Provide written reports and make timely notifications as required.
- Able to travel as needed.
Requirements
- Degree in HSE or related field or equivalent work experience is required.
- Experience in similar positions, with similar responsibilities, and experience directing project HSE professionals is required.
