Minimum Qualifications
- Master's degree required
- Candidates must be fully certified as an Athletic Trainer by the BOC
- Must become state licensed by the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners prior to start date
- Experience at the college level preferred
Job Concepts
ASSIGNED SPORT DUTIES:
- Coverage of all games and practices
- Treatment and rehabilitation of injuries
- Completing necessary paperwork, not limited to injury reports, referrals, medical history, drug testing, and travel with assigned sport
- Supervision of the daily operation of athletic training room, including, treatment/rehabilitation of athletes and necessary paperwork
- Supervision of staff/ student athletic trainers
- Develop and oversee the budget and requisition of athletic training room supplies and equipment
- Assist in supervision of the physician visits to the athletic training room
- Provides guidance and leadership to Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).
- Develops strategies and initiatives in conjunction with the Office of Equity and Inclusion to promote the value of diversity and inclusion in intercollegiate athletics. Collaborates with staff to implement gender and minority plans that meet the requirements of Title IX and reflect the values of the university.
- Serves as the sport administrator for designated programs as assigned by the Director of Athletics by providing leadership and support to coaches and student-athletes and managing day-to-day needs and issues.
- In conjunction with the Director of Athletics for assigned sports, coordinates and approves team schedules for practice and competition, coordinates specific game dates among assigned sports teams. Report regularly to the Director of Athletics regarding the health, progress and needs of these programs, and facilitate the involvement of the Director of Athletics at appropriate times.
- Represents the university at various University, conference, and NCAA meetings as the Senior Woman Administrator.
- Serves as a liaison for student-athletes. Listens to and evaluates student concerns and issues, provides guidance and facilitates problem-solving, and engages the Director of Athletics appropriately with expressed issues and concerns.
- Contributes to the overall success of intercollegiate athletics program by performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
