Are you ready to be part of a dynamic and dedicated team? Pinnacle Propane, a leading propane distribution business operating in nine US states, is looking for an enthusiastic Business Development Manager to join us in the Waterloo, IL area.

Responsible for developing and executing strategies to increase sales and profitability in the assigned territory, the Business Development Manager will play a key role in business growth. The role will lead an operations team and support their efforts to meet their objectives and deliver excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the propane market, including commercial, industrial and residential segments.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential customers, distributors and partners.
  • Analyze market trends, customer needs and competitive intelligence to develop and implement effective sales and marketing plans.
  • Manage and optimize the sales pipeline and forecast, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of sales activities and results.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of your team and provide feedback, coaching and training to enhance their skills and motivation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as operations, finance, safety and quality to ensure customer satisfaction and operational excellence.
  • Represent the company at trade shows, industry events and networking activities.

Essential Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or related field preferred. Other related experience will be considered.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in sales and business development in the propane industry.
  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales goals and growing market share.
  • Strong knowledge of the propane market, products, applications and regulations.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high degree of initiative and creativity.
  • Ability to travel frequently within the assigned territory and occasionally outside the region.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, CRM and other sales tools.

Travel and hours
  • This position is full-time, standard operating hours 8:30am to 5:00pm
  • Based at our offices in Waterloo, IL.
  • Frequent travel required in the surrounding area and beyond.
