Job Title: Advanced Practice Provider Job Specialty: Nurse Practitioner - Cardiovascular Surgery Job Duration: 13 months Shift: Day - 5x8 - 9am - 5pm, 40 Hours/Week Guaranteed Hours: Information not provided Experience: Information not provided License: Information not provided Certifications: None specified Must-Have: None specified Job Description: - Join a dynamic team comprising 4 Surgeons and 4 Physician Assistants specializing in cardiovascular surgery.- Participate in a variety of surgical procedures, including robotic lobectomy and thymectomy, coronary artery bypass grafting, aortic and mitral valve repair/replacement, thoracotomy and VATS procedures, left ventricular assist device implantation, aortic dissection repair, and ECMO.- Responsibilities include morning rounds with daily progress notes, medication management, and ordering necessary labs and studies.- Conduct patient consultations, history and physical examinations, discharge patients, and prepare discharge summaries.- Manage and remove chest tubes, and attend multidisciplinary rounds when on call.- Manage a daily clinic from Monday to Thursday for post-operative patients.- First assist in all procedures, including endoscopic vein and radial harvesting using the Maquet System (Hemopro 2 Vasoview).- Prepare harvested conduit and place appropriate post-operative orders, including closing sternotomy, based on surgeon preferences.- Provide call coverage with a rotation of 1 in 3 during the week and weekends.- Weekday call duties include finishing late cases, handling calls from the CCU, and returning to the hospital for emergency cases.- Weekend call duties include rounding with the call surgeon, progress notes, chest tube management, discharging patients, receiving calls from the CCU, and availability to return for emergency cases.- Handle an estimated 10 patient encounters per shift.Please note that credentialing is estimated to take 90-120 days.
