The Clinical Informatics Department for Patient Care Services supports the nursing department and ancillaries within MMC, serving as the liaison between clinicians and the IT Department. We leverage data and technologies to improve clinical workflows, quality, and patient outcomes with a focus on optimization of the Electronic Health Record (EHR). We are a very engaged team responsible for new employee EHR training and serve as an integral part of clinical quality and transformational projects. We work closely with many different disciplines to influence how technology can best serve the clinician and enhance the patient experience.
Position is typically Monday through Friday, 8:00 am-5:00 pm , but does require some weekends and nights on occasion.

Position Summary
- The Clinical Informatics Specialist (CIS) role is responsible for integrating healthcare science, computer science, and information science to participate in the analysis, planning, development, training, implementation, evaluation, and maintenance of Clinical Information Systems across the organization. Also responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and mentoring of clinical informatics training and education programs.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
- Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing, BSN preferred.
- License/Certifications: Current applicable state(s) license as a Registered Professional Nurse required. EPIC certifications/credentialed trainer preferred. Certification in Nursing Informatics preferred. Candidates without EPIC certification/credentialing are required to obtain certification or credentialed status within 6 months of start date.
- Experience: Two years of relevant clinical and/or training experience required.
