POSITION DESCRIPTION | Senior Manager, Strategic Initiatives
Position Summary
The Senior Manager provides critical leadership for a range of strategic initiatives focused on
improving economic and social mobility in focused geographies throughout Montgomery County
through collective action, capacity building, and advocacy. The Senior Manager is responsible for
helping to lead the Montgomery County Two-Generation Collaborate, oversee its strategic plan,
identify opportunities to build and scale the HUB network and collaborate with internal and external
stakeholders to advance improvement of outcomes for students and families.
The Senior Manager of Strategic Initiatives is responsible for managing and implementing place-
based initiatives, action networks, and community investments across multiple strategies within
Learn to Earn Dayton and as well as community connections to leverage efforts.

Position Reports to: Senior Director, Strategic Initiatives
Position Salary Range: $81,000 - $97,000, with a target hiring salary mid-range and commensurate with experience, education and qualifications
Position Terms: Full-Time; In Person / On Site
Occasional Travel

Qualifications
- Minimum of five to seven years prior experience, preferably serving in a high-level management/leadership position in a successful and similar or larger size education, publicsector, non-profit or foundation organization
- Bachelor Degree, with advanced degree in public policy, public administration or social services preferred
- Experience with critical organizational functions including community outreach, planning, administrative management, and program management
- Comfort engaging and working collaboratively with diverse individuals and groups, with a personal and professional commitment to equity
Skills Required
- Highly organized, multi-disciplinary project manager with refined use of office technology
- Relevant, broad network of cradle-to-career, place-based and cross-sector partners and strong relationships with community leaders
- Ability to execute tasks independently with limited guidance or need for technical assistance
- Creates and maintains a positive work environment, contributing to the healthy culture of the organization in all actions and interactions
- Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, and is a persuasive public speaker able to effectively represent the organization
