About the role
The Regional Environmental Specialist is responsible for the implementation and oversight of the company's policies and procedures for compliance with environmental regulations as well as ensuring that these programs are understood, faithfully executed and adhered to across assigned portfolio.
Salary Range: $110,000 - $120,000
You may be eligible for a $500 net sign on bonus to be paid out in your first paycheck

Typical Physical Demands: Regularly use hands to manipulate tools, controls, phones, and computer keyboard. Frequently stand, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, and stoop. Sit and stand to do clerical work. Regularly lift and move office supplies up to 20 lbs.
Work is performed in an office. Employees frequently interact directly with community management, facilities management, residents and other staff members during the workday.

What you'll be doing
- Provide support to Facility and Community Management, Renovations and Project Development staff regarding compliance with environmental regulations and company policies.
- Manage Environmental Support Requests via help desk ticketing system.
- Assist in addressing resident environmental concerns.
- Maintain environmental reports on project CDR.
- Maintain lead-based paint lease addendums on CDR.
- Maintain lead-based paint and asbestos records in Environmental Data Management System (Verdant)
- Maintain EnviroSnap Reports.
- Assist Facility Management in resolving deficiencies identified during annual assurance inspection.
- Keeping informed of current and proposed environmental regulations related to assigned region.
- Planning /organizing - Ability to organize work, set priorities, work independently and make productive use of time. Must also be able to instill planning and organizational traits to a subordinate level through management techniques and delegation.
- Adaptability - Ability to accept changes in the work environment manages competing demands and is able to deal with frequent changes, delays or unexpected events.
- Integrity - Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Communication and Contact - Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with superiors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the Company. Must be able to effectively communicate to subordinate staff with clear directives, institute follow-up communication mechanisms and address/correct issues arising from miscommunication of goals/directives. Employee must frequently provide a high level of customer service to field management.
- Relationships with Others: Ability to work effectively and relates well with others including superiors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the Company. The employee exhibits a professional manner in dealing with others and works to maintain constructive working relationships.
- Travel expected 25%.

Who we're looking for
- Bachelor's degree in Health, Safety, Science or Environmental Engineering required.
- Minimum of 7 years environmental, health and safety experience
- Significant knowledge of lead, mold, radon, and / or asbestos along with any proof of certification as needed or required by state law. Company willing to assist and attainment of such certifications
- Possession of a valid state issues driver's license and safe driving record are required
