Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Coaching, mentoring, and career development of the Electrical, Instrumentation and Controls team.
  • Make assignments and ensure timely execution of milestones. Coordinates with Project Management to ensure priorities are clear to engineering.
  • Knowledge of control systems operating in hazardous environments; integration with client's DCS/MCC.
  • Familiar with PLC programming, redundancy, HMI configuration, communication networks, compliance with area classification
  • Ensure standard work processes are maintained and used consistently across all Engineering disciplines.
  • Recognize/anticipate project risks and put in place actions to mitigate those risks.
  • Provide leadership in design reviews.
  • Drive engineering excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Stay abreast of new technology.
  • Provide technical direction/consultation to Application Engineering to help Sundyne succeed in winning new business.
  • Drives the business toward standardized document formats; logic diagrams, control narratives, cause and effect, instrument loop diagrams, wiring diagrams, panel layout drawings, etc.
  • Oversees successful Factory Acceptance Testing of the control panel, including internal, customer witnessed, punch list completion, negotiation/resolution, and final test report.
  • Provides consultation to Field Service for start-up/commissioning and troubleshooting.
  • Drives awareness and performance to achieve company metrics in quality and on-time releases.

Skills and Qualification:
  • B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering, MS or MBA a plus
  • 10 years - experience in engineering within a manufacturing environment, EPC, or energy company
  • 5 years - supervisory experience
  • Some familiarity with Compressor and Pump operation required; aerodynamic/hydraulic principles of performance; auxiliary support systems, rotating machinery protection equipment
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards; NEC, IEC, ATEX, NEMA
  • Excellent business judgment and decision-making skills
  • Travel to domestic or international customer sites required on a limited basis. Includes kickoff meetings, design review meetings, HAZOP meetings
