Network and Infrastructure Solution Architect

Job Description

The Network and Infrastructure Solution Architect provide technical expertise and leadership in the design of technical solutions for corporate, programs, and proposal efforts. Responsibilities include:

• Provides unique expertise in network and infrastructure system design.
• Designs develops, and constructs networks, models, and high-level systems architecture. Consults with clients to refine application needs. Serves as a key expert in areas of technical consulting, engineering or technical program management.
• Lead and contribute in the development of solutions in networking and infrastructure areas with respect to deadlines and resources.
• Determine technical requirements for proposals, business use cases, and current processes and systems.
• Collaborate with other groups within in the development of solutions.
• Identify and evaluate alternative solutions and trade-offs in cost, performance, and scalability.
• Provide advice on technical aspects of solution development and integration and ensure that relevant technical strategies, policies, standards, and practices are applied correctly.
• Serve as an expert in areas of networking and infrastructure.
• Research new technologies and solutions in dedication to continuous improvement.
• Prepare presentations, training, white papers, and briefings.
• Participate in solutioning activities during presales/proposal phases.
• Maintain current network architectures, configurations, and documentation.
• Develop and design the next generation architectures for operations.
• Act a lead project engineer in developing new networking and infrastructure capabilities and solutions.
• Work with Infrastructure team to implement the following: configuration changes, deploy new capabilities and technologies and to deploy new capabilities and support automation and orchestration initiatives.
• The candidate will work in a dynamic network environment and must be able to lead task organized teams to accomplish tasks.
• Support cost/benefit analysis activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in an IT, computer science, or software development discipline.
• 10+ years of IT industry or relevant technology disciplines.
• Strong technical knowledge of the following: Enterprise networking, including LAN/WAN/WLAN, SDWAN, MPLS, routing and switching, traffic management, firewalls, VPNs, datacenters, and networking protocols, Virtualization and IT Infrastructure Solutions.
• Must have skills with Cisco, Palo Alto, and F5 Virtualization Storage technologies.
• Moderate technology knowledge of Cloud services: SaaS, Paas, Iaas, Daas - in particular, Microsoft Azure, and Amazon Web Services.
• Strong knowledge of standard IT security practices.
• Ability to research, analyze, and recommend new technologies and software applications.
• Ability to research, analyze, and recommend improvements to existing applications and business processes.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Effective collaboration skills, focusing on strong working relationships with all functional areas.
• Strong ability to work independently, and as part of a team.
• Flexible and able to adapt to quickly shifting priorities.
• Proven track record of architecting and implementing innovative solutions and delivering business values.
• Supervision of IT or customer delivery projects.
