As a Senior Machine Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing automated machines and equipment for the baking industry. Your day-to-day tasks will include conceptualizing, prototyping, and validating machine designs, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. Role Description
We are seeking a Senior Machine Design Engineer to join our team in Jackson, MI. As a Senior Machine Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing automated machines and equipment for the baking industry. Your day-to-day tasks will include conceptualizing, prototyping, and validating machine designs, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. Qualifications:-
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Proven experience in machine design, including concept development, 3D modeling, and simulation
- Very Strong Mechatronics Background
- Proficiency in CAD software, such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD
- Packaging Equipment background a must.
- Knowledge of machine controls and automation systems
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes and materials
- Experience in the baking industry or food processing equipment design is a plus.
- Must be able to work independently and part of a team.
- Must understand the need for a sense of urgency
- Good attendance and ability to work overtime.
- Possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Must be comfortable in an office environment & shop environment.
- Must be detail oriented in design/job release to manufacturing.
Responsibilities Include:-
- Design new products and modify existing designs.
- Assist in resolution of Manufacturing, Assembly, Outsourcing, Warranty and Rectification issues.
- Provides guidance to manufacturing and assembly during initial new product build.
- Actively research and analyze competitive offerings.
- Confers with management, production, and marketing staff to determine engineering feasibility, required resources, cost effectiveness, and market demand for new products.
- Supports the development of owners' manuals for all new products.
- Supports or owns special project initiatives as directed by VP of Engineering.
- Listens to and resolves assembly/manufacturing requests or concerns.
- Must be flexible with responsibilities/projects/duties as these may change based on loading.
- Assists in creation and maintenance of quality standards on all new products.
- Maintains a working knowledge of safety policies and regulations to ensure duties of self and others are performed in a safe manner while ensuring documentation is in place.
- Provides support/documentation for projects to successfully enter mainstream manufacturing.
- Supports the development of Features, Benefits, Spec.'s, and various Marcom for Sales as it relates to new products.
- Takes a proactive approach to new product development and equipment upgrades.
- Responds quickly to resolve Warranty and Rectification issues as requested by VP of Engineering.
- Through leadership, instills a pride of "quality of execution" in the daily performance of the Mechanical Engineering Team.
- Maintains a working knowledge of modern technologies which may improve operations and develops recommendations accordingly.
