Role Description

We are seeking a Senior Machine Design Engineer to join our team in Jackson, MI. As a Senior Machine Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing automated machines and equipment for the baking industry. Your day-to-day tasks will include conceptualizing, prototyping, and validating machine designs, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. This is a full-time on-site role where you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of innovative automation technology.

Qualifications:-
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • Proven experience in machine design, including concept development, 3D modeling, and simulation
  • Very Strong Mechatronics Background
  • Proficiency in CAD software, such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD
  • Packaging Equipment background a must.
  • Knowledge of machine controls and automation systems
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and materials
  • Experience in the baking industry or food processing equipment design is a plus.
  • Must be able to work independently and part of a team.
  • Must understand the need for a sense of urgency
  • Good attendance and ability to work overtime.
  • Possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be comfortable in an office environment & shop environment.
  • Must be detail oriented in design/job release to manufacturing.

Responsibilities Include:-
  • Design new products and modify existing designs.
  • Assist in resolution of Manufacturing, Assembly, Outsourcing, Warranty and Rectification issues.
  • Provides guidance to manufacturing and assembly during initial new product build.
  • Actively research and analyze competitive offerings.
  • Confers with management, production, and marketing staff to determine engineering feasibility, required resources, cost effectiveness, and market demand for new products.
  • Supports the development of owners' manuals for all new products.
  • Supports or owns special project initiatives as directed by VP of Engineering.
  • Listens to and resolves assembly/manufacturing requests or concerns.
  • Must be flexible with responsibilities/projects/duties as these may change based on loading.
  • Assists in creation and maintenance of quality standards on all new products.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of safety policies and regulations to ensure duties of self and others are performed in a safe manner while ensuring documentation is in place.
  • Provides support/documentation for projects to successfully enter mainstream manufacturing.
  • Supports the development of Features, Benefits, Spec.'s, and various Marcom for Sales as it relates to new products.
  • Takes a proactive approach to new product development and equipment upgrades.
  • Responds quickly to resolve Warranty and Rectification issues as requested by VP of Engineering.
  • Through leadership, instills a pride of "quality of execution" in the daily performance of the Mechanical Engineering Team.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of modern technologies which may improve operations and develops recommendations accordingly.
