Description:
As a BI Consultant and Tableau Developer, you will be responsible to drive innovation with stakeholders by developing and promoting modern data analytics and visualization techniques and concepts using Tableau. You will be responsible for creating actionable business intelligence dashboards that leads to improvement in data-driven decision making. You will also be responsible to automate reports and dashboard creation. You will be responsible to track project status and deliverables, and provide updates to all stakeholders. You will be responsible for contributing to the advancement of business intelligence and data analytics principles across the Engineering Services teams and the Networks Division.
Specific Responsibilities include:
Create actionable business intelligence dashboards that leads to improvement in processes, and hardware and software products.
Create RAN KPI (Radio Access Network key performance indicators) dashboards that improves team efficiency in monitoring network performance.
Analyze data using tools such as Tableau, Alteryx, SQL, and Python/R by automating reports or analysis that lead to actionable business insights.
Develop, design, and maintain interactive Tableau analytics dashboards that promotes self-service analytics.
Utilize various Tableau functionalities like Tableau Extracts, Parameters, Contexts Filters, Data Source Filters, Actions, Charts, Trends, Forecasting, Clustering, Sets, Groups, Table/LOD Calculations, Maps, etc. to create advance reports and executive dashboards.
Create map visualizations by utilizing Tableau geospatial and mapping features.
Develop and promote automation through the use of email or stored reports.
Write complicated, efficient SQL queries and stored procedures that will assist in preparing various data sources for use in Tableau.
Query data and merge information from diverse data sources to create rich datasets that enable better decision-making.
Implement ETL methodology in data extraction, transformation and loading from different server and different database types.
Create and maintain Tableau extracts in Tableau Server.
Support the maintenance of the Tableau Server.
Work with other teams to gather and understand report and dashboard requirements.
Use agile methodologies, principles and practices to plan, manage, and deliver high quality products and services to our internal and external customers.
Track project status and deliverables, and provide regular updates to all stakeholders.
Plan and organize demos and product testing.
Train, mentor, and support other Tableau users.
Support ongoing technology evaluation process and proof of concept projects.
Background & Competencies Required:
Tableau Desktop Specialist certification is required. Tableau Certified Data Analyst certification preferred. Tableau Server Certified Associate certification is a plus.
10+ years of experience in using Tableau in a corporate environment and developing complex dashboards and visualization. Experience in Tableau Prep is required.
Strong understanding of BI application design and development principles.
Advance knowledge and expertise in creating custom SQL queries is required. Ability to write complicated, efficient SQL queries and stored procedures.
Bachelor's Degree in engineering, computer science, information technology, data science, mathematics, or a relevant field is preferred.
3+ years of Alteryx experience and Alteryx Designer Expert certification is a preferred.
3+ years of Python/R experience is preferred.
Knowledge in statistical concepts is preferred.
Familiarity with Agile and Scrum is a preferred. Scrum certification is a plus.
Ability to manipulate and analyze complex high volume, high dimensionality data from varying sources.
Complete understanding of the processes of data quality, data cleansing and data transformation.
Ability to understand and analyze the data to find patterns and valuable Business Insights.
Experience in end-to-end implementation and automation of Business Intelligence reports and dashboards.
Telecommunications industry background is a plus. Experience with wireless infrastructure provider and/or operator is desired.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated research and problem solving skills via prior work experience.
Must have a strong work ethic, integrity and work extremely well in a team environment
Excellent people and project management skills. Frequently works additional hours beyond normal schedule
