Minimum Qualifications

Education
  • Bachelors degree in Marketing, Finance or related field

Experience
  • Minimum nine (9) years of advertising strategy and/or partnership experience, ideally with a Business-to-Consumer (B2C) brand, to include three (3) years of supervisory experience

Certification/Licensure
  • N/A

Preferred
  • Master's degree in Marketing or related field

Mission Essential Designation
In accordance with the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authoritys Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP) this job has been identified as critical to mission essential functions. Incumbents in this role may be required to report to or continue to work in the event of authorized office closings or service suspensions due to severe weather, natural disaster, fire, operational emergencies or related events.

Summary

The Senior Advertising Revenue and Partnerships Manager is responsible for developing a holistic strategy to generate incremental revenue on behalf of Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA). Key activities include supporting Metros commercialization plans by optimizing 3 rd party advertising revenue, forming strategic partnerships that deliver measurable value to WMATA and fully realizing the value of WMATA's trademarks, including the Metro logo and map.

Job Duties
  • Works closely with marketing leadership team to define and execute a holistic approach to 3 rd party advertising and partnerships that delivers incremental value to WMATA and supports commercialization priorities.
  • Develop and deliver winning, multi-platform programs and proposals that lead to lasting and commercially successful advertising partnerships with a focus on driving ridership and brand awareness.
  • Cultivates relationships with vendors to support 3rd party advertising and partnership initiatives.
  • Establishes annual goals, performance metrics, plans, timelines, and assessment and reporting mechanisms to ensure execution toward goals and commitments.
  • Identifies and implements new and innovative opportunities to generate incremental revenue via 3 rd party advertising, partnerships and licensing.
  • Represents Metro to external partners, including both formal and informal presentations, attending conferences and other meetings as necessary.
  • Identify opportunities for building new business & renewing past client partnerships using data and insights from current or past campaigns.
  • Develops and executes a plan to fully realize the value of Metro trademarks across multiple channels, including retail, publishing, and online.

  • Maintains and promotes awareness and accountability with safety policies and procedures while performing job functions. Promotes a positive safety culture and encourages reporting of safety concerns consistent with our Agency Safety Plan, other regulatory requirements within the Safety Management System and just culture principles.
