Job Description: This position is accountable for day-to-day management of the activities of the Rehabilitation Department to assure proper utilization of available resources and continuous quality improvement. The Therapy Program Manager will be responsible for overseeing the development of the Rehabilitation Department and coordinating the integration of all therapies with other departments along with providing patient care as mandated per facility by the regional staff.
  • Directs the Rehabilitation staff in the evaluation and treatment of patients and assists the Regional Rehabilitation Director.
  • Responsible for the orientation of new employees, including policy and procedure as it pertains to the department and relates to the facility. New hire/ orientation paperwork completed timely to HR.
  • Participates in Quality of Life program. Utilizes Quality Indicator Report to facilitate optimal identification of CDM patients.
  • Coaches Medicare Entitlement to ensure appropriate resident care/advocacy for rehab intervention. Leads by example.
  • Direct financial oversight, profitability and revenue enhancement of daily therapy operations.
  • Understands, educates and monitors compliance of billable guidelines, documentation guidelines and labor guidelines.
  • Utilizes proficient time management skills. Able to identify and implement time saving strategies.
  • Effective and efficient utilization maintaining high standards of quality. Completes and/or monitors Rehab Ops Audit by completing weekly and monthly closeouts and weekly Rehab reports.
  • Ensures a smooth, well run, organized department.
  • Utilizes Clinical Inventory to establish base line data and facilitate mentorship opportunities.
  • Recruits, interviews, selects, quality candidates following established hiring policy and procedures.
  • Interacts with patients and family members as appropriate to maintain patient/guest relations consistent with company policy.

  • Receives, investigates and responds to employee grievances.

  • Ensures annual completion if mandatory in-services for all staff, i.e.; Fire Safety, Resident Rights, Infection Control, etc.
