Position Summary:
The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Villanova University invites applications for two tenure-track Assistant Professor positions in Electrical Engineering starting in August 2025. Exceptional candidates at higher ranks will also be considered. Candidates with a proven record of research and publications are sought in the broad areas of electric energy systems and signal processing and communications. The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering has established laboratories in the areas of electric energy systems and signal processing and communications.
In the area of electric energy systems, the Department supports the Sustainable Energy and Materials Research Laboratory, which is equipped to perform development and characterization of batteries, fuel cells, and solar cells. Equipment includes an electrochemical spectroscopy unit with power booster, power supplies and electronic loads (up to 50V/100A) along with two Tenney Jr. thermal chambers for environmental testing.
The Department also hosts state-of-the art laboratories in Radar, Wireless Communications, Antennas, and Microwaves, which support innovative and cutting-edge research in radio frequency communications, radar, and sensing technologies.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses at all levels of the electrical engineering curriculum, develop new courses that align with their area of research, establish a sponsored and sustainable research program, advise undergraduate and graduate students and projects, and supervise research performed by undergraduate, Master's and Ph.D. students.
Minimum Qualifications:
The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field with strong engineering expertise, a strong record of high-quality publications, the potential to lead an externally-funded research program, and a demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence and innovation.
