Working Hours: 8:00am - 4:30pm
(Work hours are flexible but are subject to change depending on the organizational need. Some units operate on a 24 hour basis and may utilize alternative work schedules.)
Salary: GS 12: $86,962.00 - $113,047.00
GS 13: $103,409.00 - $134,435.00
Full Performance level: GS 14
In order to recruit and retain highly qualified candidates, selectee may be eligible for relocation or recruitment incentives. To be eligible for a relocation incentive, proof of change of residency will be required. Prior to receiving a relocation or recruitment incentive, an employee must sign a written service agreement to complete a specific period of employment with the FBI at the new duty station.

Major Duties
GS 12:
  • Install, configure, and maintain operating system components
  • Install updates and temporary fixes to existing programs
  • Troubleshoot, recommend, and apply changes to optimize or increase efficiencies
  • Support and perform endurance and failover activities
GS 13 (In addition to above):
  • Recover data in the event of hardware of software failure
  • Configure and operate Cloud infrastructure and services through code
  • Monitor and troubleshoot issues impacting system availability
  • Research and apply routine product updates to resolve security issues and product deficiencies
Qualifications and Evaluations

Specialized Experience (SE):
For you to qualify based on Specialized Experience (SE) alone, you must possess the SE below for the various levels. Please ensure all SE can be identified in your resume.
GS 12: Applicant must possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS 11 grade level. SE is defined as follows:
  • Researched and assisted with designing to support back-up and recovery through database management systems
  • Utilized and configured automation software to maintain and track developmental changes to existing IT databases
  • Interacted with colleagues and existing IT systems to execute database projects to provide database enhancement recommendations to management
  • Prepared and presented informative reports, presentations, or correspondences both orally and in writing to peers and management
GS 13: Applicant must possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS 12 grade level. SE is defined as follows:
  • Researched and designed databases to support back-up and recovery through database management systems
  • Utilized and configured automation software to install, troubleshoot, apply patches, encrypt data, or track developmental changes to existing or new IT databases
  • Interacted with colleagues and software distribution tools to execute management directed database projects
  • Prepared and presented informative reports, presentations, or correspondences both orally and in writing to peers and management
  • Compiled systematic and database knowledge to create standard operating procedures or provide guidance on an enterprise level
