Position: Plant Maintenance Manager

Reports To: Plant Manager

FLSA Status: Full Time

Location: Ft. Lupton, CO

Annual Salary: $120,000-$150,000

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensures site objectives are achieved and work schedules maintained in line with project goals and objectives
  • Accountable for maintenance cost performance, including monthly forecast and variance analysis
  • Track and report fixed plant equipment KPI's ensuring they meet or exceed required performance standards
  • Manage plant equipment maintenance history records
  • Develop short and long term maintenance and equipment refurbishment/replacement plans for all plants
  • Coordinate equipment maintenance activities for all plants
  • Provide leadership to site personnel to achieve safety, environmental, and company cost objectives
  • Effectively promote, deploy, and comply with all Safety & Health and Environmental policies, standards, procedures, and regulations
  • Develop systems and foster collaboration between co-workers to ensure the division meets monthly targets
  • Ensure deployment of key initiatives and communication of relevant messages to all maintenance crews at site
  • Review competencies, qualifications, and scopes of work, for contractors ensuring costs are managed and controlled while complying with company policies and procedures
  • Serve as a mentor and coach to provide technical, practical, and field support to plant personnel focusing on increasing maintenance effectiveness, productivity and lowering cost through improved practices
  • Develop and continuously improve maintenance strategies
  • Facilitate equipment troubleshooting and processing issues
  • Identify operational opportunities and develop strategies for accomplishing the attainment of improved efficiency and productivity
  • Participate in Company safety inspections as well as MSHA inspections
  • Provide supervision to production and maintenance teams to maintain production and plant operating efficiency
  • Schedule and execute preventative maintenance routines
  • Develop and maintain sufficient spare parts inventory levels for mine sites
  • Participate with site personnel to evaluate and resolve safety issues when they arise
  • Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or technical degree in engineering or related field preferred
  • 7 or more years of experience in a mining environment
  • Mechanical knowledge of mining equipment and tools
  • Solid communication skills and excellent safety awareness
  • Equipment and reliability knowledge

Additional Requirements:
  • Good communication and interpersonal skill coupled with good negotiation, planning, scheduling and people management ability
  • The ability to recognize production problems and the experience to solve those problems
  • Good knowledge of Aggregate Mining processes and procedures
  • Ability to motivate departmental personnel to meet production goals while maintaining the integrity of the safety program
  • Good working knowledge of electrical systems, hydraulic systems, water systems, pumps, motors, conveyors, and air systems
  • Must be a decision-maker that constantly incorporates common business sense into the decision-making process
  • Material handling knowledge essential
  • Experience managing or supervising an equipment reliability program
  • Ability to adapt information and communication style to the audience
  • Skilled at promoting teamwork to establish consensus among team and stakeholders
  • Capable of identifying key issues and patterns in moderately complex situations and spotting new, less obvious solutions
  • Familiar with mining/heavy civil/infrastructure construction methodology and practices
