REASON FOR THE POSITION:
Transtar's growth plan is to leverage our established distribution network to increase sales to existing customers (Transmission Specialty Shops), develop business with new customers (General Automotive Repair Shops) and bring new product lines to market for all customer channels, fulfilling the company's mission of "Simplifying complex vehicle repair to keep the world moving." The Regional Manager will assume responsibility for a region including Albuquerque, Austin, San Antonio, Houston, New Orleans, Kansas City, St. Louis, Oklahoma City, lead a team comprised of Operations leaders and Sales teams to grow revenue through new channels and new product launches while maintaining its profitable core business. The Regional Manager will lead significant change management initiatives to guide the regional team to achieve sales and profitability goals through the execution of Transtar's mission.
THE OPPORTUNITY:
This is an opportunity for an ambitious, driven leader to assume responsibility for 8-10 locations representing $30-40M annual revenue and lead the team to growth. This position has full P&L responsibility for the assigned region, including all sales and operations roles within the region. The ideal individual has a proven track record in the design and execution of effective strategies that increase sales with current accounts as well as developing new business through new product and new customer strategies. He or she is able to persuade and influence others, lead, coach, effectively communicate, and develop sales professionals and interface with people at all levels within an organization. The Regional Manager will work directly with Branch Managers, Sales Representatives, and customers within the region and travel up to 50% is required to accomplish these objectives. In addition, through M&A opportunities, this role may step in and run a specific site(s) acquired for a period of time through acquisition and integration in order to align the newly acquired target company with NMG's sales and operations process, leadership expectations, and mission, vision, and values.

KEY FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Achieve monthly and annual sales and profitability objectives for the Region. Manage regional P&L to achieve assigned profit objectives.
- Drive and execute regional sales plans and grow revenue in line with Transtar's Annual Operating Plan (AOP).
- Direct and oversee the regional sales and customer service teams to identify and develop new customers for existing and new innovative products and services.
- Develop, design, document, and deliver repeatable processes for the life-cycle management of customer accounts including: prospecting, business development, analytics, maintenance and monitoring.
- Analyze and define market dynamics and competitive capabilities to develop plans that improve competitive position of product lines. Identify market opportunities, value propositions, strategies for new and existing products.
- Coach and develop team members through data driven performance analysis. Set performance expectations, hold team members accountable, host consistent platforms to ensure team alignment on expectations, and give regular feedback.
- Analyze processes, make recommendations, and approve solutions to ensure that projects meet business needs and provide flexibility for future changes as business evolves.
- Identify current and future talent needs by selecting and developing a team of strong players to close gaps.
- Maintain direct, key customer relationships for top customers in the region.
- Directly manage major and critical developing customer accounts.
- Monitor competitive trends and develop appropriate strategies to ensure goals are achieved.
- Collaborate with and hold accountable Branch Operations team to ensure that customer needs are met and executed within budget.
- Ensure alignment, collaboration, and strong working relationships with other Transtar business units and departments.
- Through inorganic, acquisitive growth, lead and manage a specific site(s) for a period of transition time in order to align the newly acquired target company with NMG's sales and operations process, leadership expectations, and mission, vision, and values.
- Participate in marketing events such as seminars, webinars, trade shows and conferences.
- Travel up to 50% is required to achieve objectives.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- High Growth Experience - Prior success leading in a high growth business of complexity including multiple sales channels and product lines. Market-oriented with a strong understanding of customers. Proven success executing profitable sales growth that aligns to strategic initiatives, including new customer and new product growth.

- Distribution Experience - Ideally, a combination of experience working for a complex and diversified Automotive Warehouse Distributor or commercial division of a national retail chain. Understanding of distribution operations.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in business or related field
- At least 10 years previous sales and/or operations work experience
- At least 5-7 years of experience in successfully managing teams, including management level direct reports
- Automotive aftermarket experience is highly desired.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
