Full time Salary : $160-165k, and the role requires being onsite 3-4 days a week

• Onsite: 3-4 days a week across different datacenters in the DMV area, so the candidate will need to have a car.
• Main location: 12211 Plum Orchard Dr, Silver Spring, MD 20904.
• Requirements: Must be COVID vaccinated, have their MMR vaccine, and be able to pass a drug test.
• Work hours: 8 AM to 5 PM (lunch hour is unpaid).
• Certifications: Must be CCNP or CCIE level. Yes, certification is required

Minimum Work Experience
7 years Hands-on systems engineering experience. (Required) And

Required Skills/Knowledge

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Deep understanding of networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS).

Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools.

Strong understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware

Required Licenses and Certifications
One or more of: CCNP, CCIE

Functional Accountabilities
Network Management

• Configuring and installing various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS)
• Performing network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations
• Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability.
• Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning.
• Provide Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues.

System Integration/ Implementation

• Engineer and build and maintain network platforms and services.
• Integrate network products into existing network technologies.
• Implement, administer, and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices, including wireless access points, firewall, routers, switches, controllers.
• Participate in Installation, move, adds and changes in the environment.
• Set and manage deadlines.

System/Project Planning

• Engineer and deploy network infrastructure systems design and configuration.
• Participate in design of Disaster recovery planning.
• Assist in the creation of test plans and scripts for back-up and recovery solutions.
• Assist in the development of network solutions.
• Performs hardware and network diagnosis.
• Capable of devising ways to accomplish a difficult purpose; ability to recognize a problem and construct an effective solution compatible with overall company operations.

Technical Proficiency

• Demonstrate understanding of standard networking protocols, virtual environments, SDWAN, ACI, and hybrid cloud.
• Network security experience.
• Maintain professional expertise through continuing education at conferences, seminars, user group meetings & review of current literature.
• Pursue industry standard technical certifications.
• Provide technical support and consultation to IS staff.

IT Best Practices

• Actively participate in the Department's ITIL processes
• Participate in the Incident Management process; proactively work to resolve Incidents and meet service requests; document relevant data on requests and resolutions in agreed upon timeframe.
• Escalate incidents according to procedures; convert incidents to change requests as needed.
• Participate in the Change Control process; complete change tasks and update them with relevant information and status changes.
