JOB DESCRIPTION:

AMFM Healthcare is seeking a compassionate and experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our multidisciplinary team in providing comprehensive mental healthcare to adults in our residential treatment program. The Nurse Practitioner will play a critical role in assessing, diagnosing, and treating mental health disorders in collaboration with psychiatrists, therapists, and other healthcare professionals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in psychiatric care, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing patient-centered care.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must be 21 years or older to apply for this position.
  • Ability to pass a Central Registry search, federal Fieldprint background check, and a standard background check.
  • Must have an active and current Nurse Practitioner License in the State of Virginia.
  • Minimum Education Requirement: Master's Degree in Nursing.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a psychiatric setting preferred.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    The Nurse Practitioner will be assigned projects, based on his/her level of expertise, that include any, or all the following job responsibilities.
  • Evaluating medical and psychiatric histories for new patients, documenting them in the Electronic Health Record.
  • Work collaboratively under the Chief Medical Officer, Medical Director, and/or Executive Clinical Advisor in performing regular and frequent quality psychiatric care and monitoring of clients in an around the clock care facility.
  • Conducting initial assessments for clients, and being available to assist the CMO in Pre Assessment and approval processes for the organization.
  • Performing psychiatric evaluations and assessments on a regular basis for all clients in the organization's care.
  • Ordering and interpreting diagnostic studies, lab tests, or other medical needs as dictated by the needs per each client's condition.
  • Establishing and managing psychiatric treatment plans
  • Prescribing psychiatric medications appropriate to the clients' condition, monitoring the effects of the medications, and adjusting as required throughout the length of treatment.
  • Liaise and communicate with the nursing staff in regards to changes in medication, updated information on client diagnoses, changes to or initial pharmacy orders, requisitioning of lab tests, and other needs as they arise.
  • Effectively communicate with key staff in other departments such as the clinical team, program staff, upper administration, and UR/Billing.
  • Additional medical and psychiatric duties as assigned.
