We have a full-time Senior Systems Administrator opportunity available based in McLean, VA. Qualified candidates for this job must possess a current DoD TS/SCI w/poly security clearance.

We have a full-time Senior Systems Administrator opportunity available based in McLean, VA. Qualified candidates for this job must possess a current DoD TS/SCI w/poly security clearance.
ROLE RESPONSIBILTIES
- Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network engineers.
- Monitors and manages system resources, including CPU usage, disk usage, and response times to maintain operating efficiency.
- Performs systems security administration functions, including creating user profiles and accounts.
- Other duties may include setting up administrator accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space.
- Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products.
- Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery.
- Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
- May be assigned responsibility for less experienced staff.
- Considered a recognized authority within the company.
- Works on unusually complex technical problems and provides solutions which are highly innovative.
- Determines and pursues courses of action necessary to obtain desired results.
- Managed entire site, mission, and personnel at a secure data facility providing large-scale storage for classified electronic records for multiple customers
- Regularly interface with customer and outside clients, acting as the Point of Contact for the site
- Maintain special programs equipment to provide near real time support to specialized customer
- Develop and build highly redundant and available REFS storage on JBOD storage systems exceeding 7 PetaBytes
- Manage large private library of controlled and classified data to be supplied in proper fashion to customers ensuring data is securely transferred via Tableau write-blocking devices and forensic data tools
- Install software, operating system and BIOS updates on mission-critical hardware within off-hours maintenance windows in order to comply with uptime service level agreements (SLAs)
- Provide training on highly sophisticated third-party software to customers that have had little to no previous experience
- Ensure proper handling of highly classified material and ensure that it is processed correctly and only approved products are disseminated
- Engineer physical and virtual Windows server and desktop machines, SANS, and network devices to support the changing environment in a dynamic mission
- Maintain and operate high level secure communication equipment for secure voice, video telecommunications (VTC), and computer network traffic over global areas
- Develop training plans and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to be utilized by all personnel assigned, and write them at a level that allows any assigned person to accomplish the required tasks without needing additional assistance
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Must possess an active DoD TS/SCI poly security clearance.
- Bachelor's (or equivalent) with 10 - 12 yrs. of experience or a Master's with 8 - 10 yrs. of experience.
- Must be proficient in using different technologies such as computers and other tools and systems pertinent to the position.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
- In rare/some occasions, overnight travel may be required.

- Must be able to work in an office environment, sitting at a desk, looking at a computer for most of the workday.
- Work is physically comfortable; the employee has discretion about sitting, walking, standing, etc.
