Description:
The Procurement Manager is responsible for obtaining the parts and services necessary to maintain and repair the fleet, maximizing the company's spend on parts and services and ultimately, minimizing fleet downtime. He/she will accomplish these objectives by optimizing the procurement procedures and through continual analysis of the company's supply chain. The Procurement Manager typically works under limited supervision, expected to work long hours, and subject to working as long as necessary to complete his/her job responsibilities.

- Forecasts goals and objectives for the department and strives to meet them
- Streamlines and oversees the entire procurement process
- Establishes written procedures for all aspects of parts / purchasing department
- Establishes national accounts and issues company-wide RFPs to leverage buying power
- Benchmarks established accounts and ensures the best pricing available
- Sets and monitors proper inventory and re-order levels per branch to ensure the proper parts are in stock to accommodate equipment population per branch while minimizing stock on hand and maximizes inventory turns per year
- Conducts annual physical audits at every branch
- Ensures a timely turnaround of parts needed for internal jobs
- Handles customer complaints immediately and according to the guidelines.
- Handles billing / pricing discrepancies with vendors
- Monitors and adjusts inventory to minimize obsolescence by organizing and executing parts return to OEM's and / or parts sales to third parties
- Availability outside of normal working hours to answer phone calls and emails
- Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations that may affect parts sales
- Performs other duties as assigned
Essential:
- Must be proficient in fundamentals of procurement
- Must be proficient in fundamentals of supply chain
- Must have proficient oral and written communication skills
- Possess a bachelor's degree or work experience equivalent
- Must be able to pass a drug test, background check, and fit for duty test.
