SHIFT: 10 Hour Shifts (EXEMPT)

EXEMPT: PART-TIME (50hrs./2 week pay period)

POSITION SUMMARY

The Primary Care Physician is responsible for providing primary care directly to patients and indirectly by working Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants. The Physician is responsible for the coordination of care with specialists and appropriate ancillary services and shall work collaboratively with all members of the health care team to formulate treatment plans. The Physician manages the health of patients by providing evaluation and management of acute and chronic illnesses/conditions, participating in wellness and preventative programs, and promoting patient education and community outreach.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Provide primary care to patients through ongoing assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
  • Enhance the quality of patient management and satisfaction through support and collaboration with various internal and external programs/organizations.
  • Upholds Bear Valley Community Hospital's Policies and Procedures, Principles of Responsibilities, and applicable state, federal, and local laws.
  • All other duties or responsibilities as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Education Required:
  • Current California Medical License (MD or DO)
  • DEA Furnishing License
  • BLS Certification within 3 months of hire


Education Preferred:
  • ACLS Certification
  • PALS Certification


Minimum Experience Required:

  • Must be credentialed through Medical Staff for privileges to see patients within their scope of practice.


Experience Preferred:
  • One-year experience working in an outpatient clinic preferred.
  • Knowledge of EMR system or ability to learn and use the district Electronic Medical Record system

  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Ability to use communication skills to enhance learning through motivation, associations and repetition.
  • Ability to interact and collaborate respectfully with a variety of people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong organization skills with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office.
  • Must have the ability to work collaboratively with other members of the health care team.
  • Must be able to withstand stressful situations.
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Bilingual preferred
