About the Site
The NNSA's Savannah River Site (SRS), located in Aiken, South Carolina, is responsible for supplying and processing tritium, a radioactive form of hydrogen that is a key component of nuclear weapons. SRS loads tritium and non-tritium reservoirs; processes reservoirs; and recycles, extracts, and enriches tritium; and also plays a key role in NNSA's nonproliferation missions (energy.gov).
GEM Technologies, Inc. (GEM) is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our team. This position is full-time and will serve the Savannah River Site in Aiken, SC.
Overview
- Assess system health, prepare/review design changes, determine replacements for obsolete parts, troubleshoot system equipment, review work packages, support/resolve installation technical issues.
- Design and manage the systems that store and transfer nuclear fuel waste to be processed.
- Manage product scope, design, and documentation package for nuclear waste transfer equipment.
- Create documentation to operate transfer equipment.
- Troubleshoot transfer problems and devise creative solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and 5+ years of experience.
Clearance & Citizenship Requirement
- To be considered, you must be able to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance, if needed.
- Due to the nature of the work, a U.S. Citizenship is required.
