Job Description

  • Install, configure, upgrade, and patch network monitoring and management tools
  • Monitor network performance, analyze traffic patterns, and manage alerts for network anomalies
  • Set up and manage alerts for network anomalies, ensuring a timely response
  • Maintain an up-to-date inventory of all network hardware and software assets, including routers, switches, servers, firewalls, and licenses.
  • Ensure that all changes to the network inventory are accurately recorded and updated in real-time.
  • Work closely with network engineers, IT support teams, and other stakeholders to ensure network inventory needs are met.
  • Continually monitor and fine-tune performance of Information Systems, conducting analyses of network usage, user complaints, traffic interruptions, hardware and software capabilities, and other relevant factors.
  • Create, update and comply with SOPs and other documentation.

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications:
  • Strong understanding of network protocols, architecture, and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
  • Hands-on experience with network troubleshooting and performance optimization.
  • Proficiency with network monitoring and management tools such as OpenText NOM, Nagios, PRTG Network Monitor, Wireshark, etc.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation and integration with network tools.
  • Familiarity with automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
  • Ability to create and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and policies.
  • Relevant certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or CompTIA Network+

Desired Qualifications
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issues.
  • Strong data analysis skills to generate actionable insights from network data.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with IT staff and stakeholders.
