GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

The VP Commercial Credit oversees the Credit Union's commercial credit team. The credit team is responsible for underwriting, portfolio monitoring, credit analysis, and loan covenant compliance. This role will lead and manage a team of Credit Analysts. The VP will be responsible for credit administrative duties that includes review of new/existing loans and assist with the management of the Credit Union's loan asset quality. This role may also be considered a player/coach position whereby the VP functions as both Supervisor and Underwriter.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Ensures that the Credit Department produces sound underwriting and credit analysis that adheres to the Credit Union's Loan Policy.
2. Responsible for loan covenant compliance within the Credit Union's total commercial loan portfolio through obtaining of financial documents.
3. Reviews Loan Documentation and Credit Proposal recommendations as needed.
4. Ensures that all quarterly problem loan status reports are satisfactorily completed on a timely basis.
5. Ensures that all required training courses are completed on a timely basis.
6. Maintains an awareness of developing trends in the market which may impact credit quality.
7. Conducts credit investigations and analyzes credit information pertaining to loans.
8. Investigates all available sources of credit and financial information.
9. Prepares summaries, presents facts, and offers opinions concerning creditworthiness.
10. Provides credit information and references for customers, loan officers, or other agencies as requested.
11. Maintains control over current accounts, watches for any developing problems, and keeps loan officers informed.
12. Provides leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to subordinate group.
13. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree
6+ years related experience
Equivalent combination of education and experience
