We are seeking an "Senior Financial Analyst" for a full-time contract opportunity with FM Talent Source for one of our valued clients. This will be based in Washington, DC.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
  • Prepare budgets and develop forecasts based on past spending and economic trends. Budget analysts are vital to reaching financial goals, maintaining profitability, and attaining long-term growth.
  • Developing an organization's budget. This may involve working with department and project managers, as well as other stakeholders to determine costs and benefits of various programs.
  • Conduct research, analyze data, and review financial records. During the process, they typically recommend funding levels and spending cuts.
  • Ensure that budgets, bookkeeping, and other finances are in compliance with regulations, laws, and agency standards.
  • Make recommendations to Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and other stakeholders regarding efficient use of funds;
  • Reconcile agency funds held outside Treasury (Overseas banking transactions);
  • Prepare Host Government Report;
  • Additional duties include monitoring spending for variations, providing technical analysis, and preparing various financial and reconciliation reports;
  • Analyze and perform extensive liaison with personnel from Accounting and Finance at Bureau of the Fiscal Service (FS) to resolve problems.


ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
  • Minimum of (three) 3 to four (4) years of experience in budget analysis with the federal government;
  • Two (2) to four (4) years of experience in Administrative Work.
  • Must be proficient and have advanced skills in Excel.
  • Must have working knowledge in MS Access.
  • Must have working knowledge in programming, such as MS visual basic.
  • Have good writing skills, good grammar, ensure accuracy, and maintain a professional tone.
  • Have interpersonal skills, communicate effectively, and be courteous when interacting with others to create a positive work environment.
  • Have organizational skills so an office can run efficiently.
  • Experience handling sensitive information from time to time.
