Advance Education is the Higher Education division of Advance Local, one of the country's largest privately-owned media companies who owns 12 local affiliated news and information websites that rank #1 among local media in their respective markets. We are looking for someone with an entrepreneurial mindset that is excited to build their own business independently and as part of a team. The ideal candidate has experience with a needs-based sales approach and selling to higher education institutions.
We will expect you to grow your client list. An average day for you might include working with your leader to prospect new schools, holding meetings with prospective clients, and pitching strategic campaigns to higher ed executives. You will be expected to consistently build your sales funnel and work to close business at a high velocity.
Compensation for this position is comprised of a base salary plus incentive compensation. The base salary range is $65,000 to $75,000 per year. Additional incentives bring total potential compensation to $133,500 to $143,500.

In this role, you will:
- Achieve your sales goals by prospecting and driving new partnerships in the Higher Education space
- Meet with local Colleges and Universities to uncover and understand their business needs and goals so that you can advise them on our comprehensive product mix including digital, search, video and mobile solutions.
- Remotely pursue meaningful connections at colleges in the western states
- Work with colleagues to design custom advertising and marketing solutions that fit your clients' needs
- Present solutions to clients, working collaboratively to achieve the product mix aligned to their goals
- Further your client relationships through retention and upselling
- Review campaign results, learn from data and celebrate your successes
- Work with our advertising fulfillment team to provide accurate information for each client campaign
Requirements:
- Minimum Five years of B2B sales experience working in higher education
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience
- Proven success in exceeding new business revenue goals and growing existing account base.
