PennEngineering is seeking a motivated, excited, individual to be a part of our team. As the Quality Engineer at the PennEngineering Company, you'll collaborate with teams that do truly amazing things.
The Quality Engineer will work with customers and suppliers on applications requiring technical and quality related support. This will include playing a key role in quality considerations in new product development. This position will work with Design and Applications Engineers to ensure designs meet quality standards. This position will also play a leading role in evaluating manufacturing processes to maintain product integrity throughout the entire process, ensuring throughput goals are met.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Develop a thorough understanding of industry quality requirements across all end markets served.
- Be the Technical point of contact in the event of a quality issue, and travel to customer facilities to support and troubleshoot.
- Track and report metrics such as PPM and Cost of Quality for purposes of improvement.
- Implement, maintain, and report supplier report cards.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Sales, and Manufacturing on New Product Development projects.
- Support Manufacturing and Quality personnel in Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action Response.
- Analyze Corrective Action responses from suppliers and Manufacturing.
- Develop quality-related internal specifications.
- Coordinates internal reviews of Customer Specific Requirements (CSRs) and/or Customer supplier manuals, including documentation of exceptions with justifications.
- Observe all safety regulations in all duties.
- Perform other duties as required.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- BS in Engineering with 5-10 years' experience in quality-related operations or 8-12 years equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of Six Sigma tools.
- Automotive Industry Quality knowledge (PPAP, ISO/TS) and Advanced Product Quality Planning.
- IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 experience and works within an established QMS
- Apply engineering calculations and assumptions to Quality maintenance, develop Quality metrics, surveys, and reports for internal use and suppliers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and math skills are necessary; some education in statistics is desirable.
- Must be able to organize and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Computer skills are required, particularly the ability to use Microsoft Office products.
- Detail-oriented with solid follow-through on tasks as required.
