Summary of Position

Calgary Foothills Primary Care Network (PCN) is a group of family physicians and health care professionals in northwest Calgary and Cochrane collaborating with various external stakeholders to deliver the best possible primary care. Calgary Foothills PCN has established a team environment where individuals are encouraged to take initiative, be creative and contribute to ongoing decision-making.

The Program Manager reports to the Director and collaborates with PCN medical leads, family physicians, clinic staff and external stakeholders. The Program Manager is responsible for development and design of the program service delivery and plays an integral role in ensuring the PCN delivers high quality and innovative programs.

Key Responsibilities

Key aspects of the position may include, but are not limited to:
  • Participate in business, vision and strategic planning, ensuring alignment with the organization aims to improve health outcomes and patient experience in an integrated system of primary health care
  • Manage the daily operations of interdisciplinary health team members including recruitment, payroll, orientation, scheduling, program evaluation metrics, professional development and shadowing, electronic medical records, privacy, workplace health and safety, recognition and performance management
  • Lead the development, coordination, implementation and evaluation of innovative programs and services, in close collaboration with the medical lead or physician champion
  • Establish action plans to support achievement of strategic priorities, including objectives and measures
  • Responsible for high quality program service delivery through monitoring, evaluation measures and quality improvement initiatives
  • Promote new program service delivery successes, learnings and opportunities with internal and external partners
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders and external partners (Alberta Health Services, other PCNs, community stakeholders) to maintain relationships, support innovative partnerships, coordination of care and program alignment
  • Responsible for accurate and appropriate financial management and adherence to allocated budget

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in health care field
  • Active professional license (such as Occupational Therapist, Registered Dietitian, Registered Nurse, Pharmacist) preferred
  • This position will be the direct supervisor for the teams of Registered Dietitians, Social Workers and Program Coordinators. As such, Dietitian or Social Worker background or experience leading interdisciplinary health care teams is preferred
  • Minimum two years previous management or leadership experience
  • Experience in primary care preferred
  • Minimum five years of health care related experience
