- Directs, plans and manages the budgets in alignment with the department and hospital goals. (Prepares with the Administrator the annual JUP budget, University and Medical college budget.)
- Responsible for maintaining department metric reports
- Reviews and summarizes financial data for the JUP practice, University and TJUH
- Responsible for strategic development: program development, educational courses
- Works on interdisciplinary teams and projects to further the overall goals of the organization.
- Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the core values of the University
- Coordinate office activities and schedules; develop and recommend strategy, procedures and systems; ensure smooth operations.
- Supports and monitors the development and creation of multiple centers of excellence This includes, but not limited to, development of a business plan, marketing of the Center, research development, website development, and the collaboration with other departments within the University.
- Supports the department's research effort by organizing, processing and maintaining documentation required by internal and external departments and agencies. Keeps departmental investigators informed regarding status of projects, upcoming deadlines, etc. Meets regularly with Department of Research Administration staff to review status of grants.
- Maintains accurate FTE account for the, approves payroll and reviews overtime analysis sheet.
- Prepares all PAFs for grant salary expenses along with all supporting documents
- Monitors monthly grant statement to ensure salary expenses are within budget. Advises PI for any action necessary.
- Analyzes leadership dollars expenses and adjusts when necessary
- Provides support for grant accounting to the grants administrator and PI's.
- Manages quarterly salary expense transfers between the university and hospital for the research personnel's salary and fringe expense.
- Assists in creation of all dept strategic plans
- Responsible for Dept marketing plan and internet web design
- Gathers, investigates, and analyzes specific issues affecting department operations; independently develops and prepares non-routine reports and correspondence which may be highly sensitive and confidential in nature.
- Provides assistance and support and lead problem solving, project planning and management, and development and execution of stated goals and objectives.
- Oversee and administer specified operational program initiatives and/or special projects of significance to the department, institution and/or the community, as appropriate.
- Oversee and facilitate human resources administration procedures and documentation for the office; coordinates recruitment planning and searches, as appropriate.
- Participate in development of policies, objectives, and long-range planning; develop tracking and evaluation programs to assist in accomplishment of established goals.
- Assist Administrator for special projects as assigned.
- Manage a variety of special projects, some of which may have institutional impact.
- Participate in various committees and professional organizations.
- Pursues professional development activities to ensure currency with practices and trends in health care.
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- B.S.in business or related field required.
- Minimal two years financial/budgetary experience
