POSITION SUMMARY
The SR Project Manager (SPM) position is responsible for the development of Capital Projects including Sustaining, ES&H, Expense and CRCT. The SPM is responsible for implementation of management directives and goals including engineering, design & drafting, electronic data management, construction management and assistance to the Refinery during unplanned outages. Participate in the development of the annual capital budget, staffing plan, AFE generation, scope of work, detailed estimates, and other duties as may be required to support site operations. Hands on execution for small (<$10mm) and mid-size projects ($15mm to $100mm) at times working with outside EPC and EPCm firms. Provide guidance and leadership using CVR project management practices and Phased Gate Process.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor of Engineering required in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or equivalent experience.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- 20 years of progressive refinery project experience
- Minimum of 10 years' experience working as a Project Manager
- Responsible for executing projects up $100mm USD
- Fluent in project management procedures, and execution practices
- Demonstrated knowledge of refinery construction codes
- Advanced knowledge of refinery processing required
- Extensive knowledge of engineering systems, standards and procedures
- Demonstrated ability to analyze problems and prioritize tasks
- Ability to address and handle confidential issues and materials on a regular basis
- Ability to accept changes and quickly align resources to effect outcomes
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Primavera, and estimating tools required
- Fluent in English, oral and written required
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Responsible for the development of assigned Capital Projects including Sustaining, ES&H, Expense and Crude Trucking and Pipeline.
- Participate in the development of annual capital projects budget.
- Participate and lead development of project cost controls and execution of projects
- Participate in plant outages including planned turnarounds.
- Provide leadership, guidance and support to project management, engineering, drafting & design personnel.
- Participate in the development & implementation of CVR project procedures and systems.
- Maintain regular communication with corporate executives and refinery management to coordinate projects
- Participate in functional and cross-functional initiatives as assigned
- In cooperation with other groups(HR) recruit, train and mentor project & engineering staff
EXPECTED RESULTS
- Successful execution of assigned capital projects including key metrics
- Resources are effectively balanced & maintained including staff, e-tools, equipment and training
- Accurate and timely reports for all planned and unplanned projects (emergency)
- Mentor and positively motivate staff & contractors developing high performance teams
- Travel expectations approximately 30%
- Continuous improvement of project management and engineering practices
- Compliance with all company policies, directives and procedures
