Tessco is seeking an experienced Supply Planner for our Procurement Team. As a Supply Planner, you will be responsible for managing inventory availability required to meet customer demand. This includes managing SLA's for inventory availability, turns expectations and aged inventory reduction. You will work closely with the Demand Planning, Sales, Sales Operations and our Supplier Partners as well as cross functional teams, and our customer(s) to ensure flawless execution of inventory requirements. You will also be responsible for helping to identify opportunities for us to optimize systems and processes in order to drive efficiencies.
Responsibilities
Purchasing and Scheduling of physical inventory to meet Service Level, Turns and Budgeting goals
Review Service Level misses for Root Cause Analysis and corrective action to prevent further occurrences
Analyze data and prepare reporting as needed
Maintenance of Supply Planning stocking strategy and system inputs (safety stock levels, lead-times, buying schemas, etc)
Maintain limited Excess and Obsolete inventory
Scheduling of inbound product shipments (incl. expediting, rescheduling and cancellation)
Work collaboratively with all functional areas of the business: Sales, Marketing, Demand Planning, Finance, Sales Operations, and Logistics to solve problems and identify business improvement opportunities
Maintain inventory balances between Tessco facilities and transfer material as needed
Negotiation and execution of Returns to Vendors
Serve as a Discrepancy Resolution escalation point for product, invoice or shipment discrepancies
Lead Supply Chain portion of Quarterly Business Reviews with Strategic Vendors
Qualifications
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated superior customer service abilities
Strong desire to collaborate and develop relationships in the support of key accounts
Professional and pleasant demeanor
Strong attention to detail, ability to multitask, effective time management, and organization skills
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint)
Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel is a plus
SAP S4 experience preferred
Leadership experience preferred
Supplier negotiation experience, Supply Chain certification (APICS, etc...)and knowledge of supply chain management principles and best practices preferred
4- year college degree or equivalent combination of documented experience and skills
4 years relevant work experience
