Director, Ground Service Equipment

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

As the Director of Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Operations, you will be responsible for the strategic leadership and operational management of all GSE activities within the Trego-Dugan Aviation GSE Division. You will play a pivotal and strategic role in ensuring that our organization has the support needed for effective and successful operations regarding GSE assets. This director-level role has purview over the GSE Refurbishment Facilities and operations, GSE Maintenance Shops and operations, and works to ensure that third-party maintenance vendor relationships are established and maintained and the services rendered meet the high safety, reliability, and efficiency standards. The Director of GSE Operations is a senior leader ensuring that GSE Regional Managers have the resources and guidance to support their operations and our internal divisions of Air Cargo, Air Ground Handling, and our FBOs. Additionally, you will serve as the central point of contact of the GSE division for company senior-level leadership, internal and external partners, and our valued airline customers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage and oversee all aspects of GSE operations for TDA.
• Ensure that all GSE operations comply with safety regulations and standards.
• Lead and mentor a GSE Regional Managers, Managers, and Technicians team.
• Recruit, train, and develop GSE personnel to maintain a skilled workforce.
• Analyze data relating to GSE performance maintenance schedules.
• Provide regular reports to senior management on GSE operations.
• Collaborate with internal departments and stakeholders.
• Lead monthly meetings with the GSE team to discuss operational matters and safety.
• Develop, implement, and manage Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the team.
• Traveling is about 10% of the time.
• Other duties that are identified by senior leadership.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School diploma or GED (College or Vocational degree preferred).
• Have six years of verified experience with GSE mechanical engineering or ten years of heavy mechanical expertise.
• Have a great working knowledge of diesel, gas engines, and various transmissions.
• Must have an excellent working knowledge of electrical systems.
• Have a great working knowledge of hydraulic systems.
• Have an excellent troubleshooting ability.
• Have a minimum of four years of supervisorial experience.
• Must have good computer skills, including MS Office products.
• Have extensive ramp or cargo operational experience.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills balanced with a high level of confidence.
• Must be flexible, determined to succeed, and very self-motivated.
