Position Summary
This position is responsible for leading organizational change efforts to promote, implement and support diversity, equity and inclusion throughout Fincantieri Marine Group staff, programs, operations, public outreach/relations, and other critical functions within the organization.The Communications and Inclusion Manager's primary role is to ensure the company's culture and business practices, such as sourcing, communications, development, public relations and overall business strategy, are equitable and inclusive for all employees. This position will provide services and solutions to help grow a more engaged and inclusive work environment. This role will lead and manage diversity, equity, and inclusion programs and initiatives, as well as educate employees on DE&I best practices internally and provide oversight and collaborative with all levels of management in the Group. Manage company events across FMG, including but not limited to Employee Experience initiatives and ship milestone celebrations, incorporating DE&I and employee experience best practices.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee's workspace is in a clean and comfortable climate-controlled setting with little to no exposure to the moving equipment, elements, extreme conditions, or risk of injury. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. When entering the shipyard, areas of the work environment may not be climate-controlled and there is exposure to moving equipment, etc.

Essential Skills and Functions
- Provide leadership around DEI community programming and education to ensure the delivery of training and resources that are responsive to the changing needs of marginalized populations.
- Collaborate with community partners of Fincantieri Business Units to establish and reaffirm relationships with marginalized communities to bridge services, education and connection within.
- Organize events and outreach activities, incorporating DEI best practices.
- Assess the impact of Fincantieri's practices, identify opportunities and lead change initiatives.
- Develop and maintain plans that encourage leaders to support, implement, and lead their own departments and business units on DEI matters.
- Provide cultural change to support FMG's ability to deepen its relationship and support of essential diverse segments across employees, customers and communities.
- Provide consultation to all levels of the organization as diversity and cultural competency issues arise.
- Lead efforts to ensure that diversity, equity and inclusion is addressed in policies, programs, operations, communications, strategic planning and decision-making processes.
- Responsible for the development and implementation of staff communications and training that enhance the organization's capacity to deliver culturally proficient services.
- Assist marketing, internal/external communications and other organizational resources in creating timely communications and activities in alignment with organizational values.
- Assist Human Resources and other department managers with inclusiveness in recruiting, marketing, and retention of underrepresented staff through communication and enhanced outreach.
- Support employee engagement surveys, eamployee action groups, pulse surveys, and focus groups. Drive continuous feedback and implementation of employee feedback into company events and initiatives.
- Responsible for supporting the annual affirmative action process associated to DE&I focus areas for the Group that includes; public relations, communications and partnerships.
- Manage high visibility events such as ship christening ceremonies, VIP visits, employee experience initiatives, and other events as necessary.
- Support the development of content for public affairs, marketing, and employee experience efforts.
- Knowledge of Communications and Engagement, Employment Law (EEO, ADA, AA, FMLA, etc.), HR Policy and Procedure, diversity and Inclusion and training of multiple disciplines
- Superior writing and editing skills, including ability to research and synthesize information into content that meets the target audience's needs and/or voice of author

- Experience in managing DE&I organizational change efforts required
- Experience in photography, videography, and editing software required
- Experience and working knowledge of the diversity/cultural competency field and lived bicultural experience preferred.
- Bilingual (English -- Spanish) preferred
- Expertise in implicit bias training and assessment preferred
- Diversity and Inclusion Certification and/or Training, Project Management, Process Improvement, or Change Management preferred
- Experience with digital content management systems and social media platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, etc. preferred
- Experience in US military events and protocol best practices preferred
- Professional event management training or certification preffered
- Knowledge and experience with design software such as Adobe Creative Suite, including Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Premiere Pro, Canva preferred
