GMC has an opening for Business Development Professional - Disaster Recovery to support our Disaster Recovery Team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for demonstrating a thorough knowledge of the firm's values and standards for project solicitation and client management. In addition, the candidate will exhibit the leadership required for effective team contributions to the firm's success including contributions to client relationships and opportunity generation. Your attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and ability to multitask will contribute to the success of the Disaster Recovery team.

GMC has an opening for Business Development Professional - Disaster Recovery to support our Disaster Recovery Team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for demonstrating a thorough knowledge of the firm's values and standards for project solicitation and client management. In addition, the candidate will exhibit the leadership required for effective team contributions to the firm's success including contributions to client relationships and opportunity generation. Your attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and ability to multitask will contribute to the success of the Disaster Recovery team.
Essential functions and responsibilities include:
- Own strategic channels, partnership strategy and execution including developing a partnership playbook with 1:1 relationship with key partners.
- Negotiate and manage execution of these partnership agreements
- Identify and execute partnership expansion opportunities
- Be the day-to-day contact for our partner's business development teams and effectively facilitate requests for information/collaboration.
- Work with SME's and their respective business lines to transform knowledge of GMC's business objectives and internal and competitive opportunities as well as translate customer insights into actionable marketing communications strategies and tactics
- Develops strategic business plan and effectively researches prospect organizations to understand industry segment, key business drivers, situational or environment factors, and business challenges
- Build thorough knowledge of all State Agency Departments and offerings to allow for proper plan recommendations
- Foster relationships with senior contacts across State and Local agencies as well as with C-Suite level partnerships.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of the client's business, audience and industry in order to proactively contribute ideas and solutions
- Supervise any assigned team, including hiring staff and establishing and encouraging a performance-driven culture
- Builds and maintains accurate forecasts of upcoming opportunities
- Create a 2-year pipeline, identify bids in adjacent markets (e.g. additional agencies and services).
- Maintain and augment pipeline management system to include capture data and bid-related information. Establish a system for bid research for pop-up and long-range bids.
- Assist in the management of proposal volume (~30 to 40 proposals per year).
- Management and update corporate marketing materials and collateral.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field.
- Ten or more years of experience in business development, sales, or similar roles.
- Skills in initiative development, negotiation, closing deals, communication, relationship management, and product knowledge.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to engage with customers
- Confidence and ability to persuade as you'll be contacting potential leads directly
- Excellent communication skills to pitch your proposals in a clear and engaging way
- Business acumen, commercial awareness and interest in developing businesses.
- Teamworking when working collectively within a larger organization
- Excellent written skills, to produce materials, reports, etc.
- Negotiation skills and the ability to make sound business decisions.
