Job Summary and Qualifications

The Pharmacy Clinical/Operations Specialist is responsible for participating in and leading pharmacy clinical or operational programs. This includes monitoring patient medication regimens and providing appropriate interventions.

What you will do in this role:

  • You will also help mentor pharmacy staff and students and evaluate and implement clinical/operational programs.
  • You will Interpret orders and transcribes or verifies them accurately and efficiently into the pharmacy computer system.
  • You will Accurately compound and dispense pharmaceuticals.
  • You will monitor drug therapy regimens for contraindications, drug-drug interactions, drug-food interactions, allergies and appropriateness of drug and dose.
  • You will attend and actively participate in daily multidisciplinary and bedside rounds.
  • You will complete drug utilization reviews to promote rational drug therapy and implement improvements identified.
  • You will provide accurate and timely medication information to healthcare staff and patients.
  • You will lead and develop pharmacy clinical services such as drug consults, nutrition support, pharmacokinetics, anticoagulant monitoring, pain management, IV to PO, renal dosing and other programs as defined by Pharmacy Leadership.


What qualifications you will need:

  • Current licensure by the Colorado Board of Pharmacy as a registered Pharmacist.
  • BLS and ACLS required within the first 2 months of employment.
  • B.S. required. Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as an Advanced Clinical Pharmacist or at least 5 years of general hospital pharmacy experience; preferably within area of focus.
  • PGY2/ pharmacy general practice residency or fellowship.
  • BCPS certification or other certification (e.g., FCCP, FASHP)
