Job Summary: The Manager will work directly with engagement teams to achieve the mission of Financial Management Services (FMS), to enable business owners to spend more time executing their strategies and less time managing finance.

The Manager will be involved in assisting Partners, Consulting Executives and clients with a variety of other financial and non-financial matters. These matters might include: preparation of reporting to satisfy credit agreements, forecasting future financial results, monthly financial statement closing, preparing for external financial audits, evaluation of employee benefits, researching the accounting treatment of particular financial transactions, and implementation of new financial systems or new modules in existing financial systems.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead by example, actively live out and promote the firm's core values HT3 and service standards.
  • Serve as day-to-day contact for selected clients and assist in managing overall client relationship.
  • Oversee the preparation of monthly client financial statements, both for internal use by management and external, GAAP and other accounting principle-based statements.
  • Perform final review on client reporting, including month end close processes and monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, including but not limited to state reporting, sales tax, and property tax.
  • Review compiled and prepared financial statements, tax write-ups, and related workpapers. A CPA is required for final review of Compilations and Prepared financial statements.
  • Prepare financial statements, budgets, forecasts and other reports for internal and external use.
  • Develop the ability to identify, analyze and articulate problems and opportunities, and propose solutions as a client advocate.
  • Effectively communicate results, both internally and externally on project and client information.
  • Understand client objectives and maximize the value of the service we provide with respect to attaining those objectives.
  • Participate in department and firm administration, including active participation in the career development program through:
  • Overseeing or assisting in the management of staff schedules and capacity
  • Serving as a Career Advisor for assigned Advisees
  • Assisting with the recruitment and selection of new team members
  • Assisting in the training and development of the team.
  • Maintain the economics of job performance by reviewing and working within Firm operational budgets and billing constraints.
  • Use time management skills to identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Assist in business development efforts, as requested
  • Scope and price engagements
  • Prepare presentations for client proposals, bank and investor presentations, etc
  • Participate in professional and business organizations in order to advance the profession and expand personal network
  • Expected level of chargeable time is 1,400 billable hours, within the context of 2,200-hour year
  • Compliance to the Firm's quality control standards


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor of Business Administration, Accounting or related field from an accredited school required.
  • Minimum of (5) five years of experience in a finance or accounting related position, either in public accounting, banking or industry.
  • CPA very strongly preferred
  • Understanding of GAAP accounting and other applicable accounting pronouncements
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of accounting systems and ability to adapt to a variety of softwares
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and other software applications
  • Strong technical, research, organizational and analytical skills required
  • Experience in a paperless accounting software preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job the employee will regularly be required to sit, stand, reach, walk, drive, kneel, crouch, crawl and lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.
